In the early years, I didn't like him. I didn't understand why he was so good. I met him at a Padre's game and he couldn't have been nicer to my son and went out of his way to take a picture with my son. You can see he's a good guy. Intelligence off the charts. Cruz completely ruined Khabib vs Conor with his commentary. I have to mute the sound when I rewatch it. As Conor is getting smashed, Cruz keeps saying he is saving his energy. I can agree, but I don't think any of that matters. Teddy Atlas put it perfectly: DC and Rogan make you feel like they're over your house watching the fights with you. We don't need in depth technical analysis in the middle of fights, because realistically the commentators can't do it in real time and its going to turn off the majority of casual fans. If you want the hardcore perspective either turn the volume off and watch it yourself, or just go to specialists like Jack Slack, Luke Thomas, Dan Hardy, etc after the fights. I dont understand the complaints about DC

Dom is one of my all-time favorite fighters. Such a fun and unique style to watch. But I got to say I disagree with his take care. To each their own but I personally don't enjoy Dom's commentary that much myself. He's a little too analytical and serious on the broadcast for me. DC's big personality and sometimes casual commentary help make some of the fights more interesting. UFC events are supposed to be big and fun and wild. DC does his job well. Cruz is the man now hope he pulls it out this weekend

So many times, I watch a fight and DC is talking about the loser as if they are winning - like - either he has poor brain performance or he has a hand in the gambling industry. Even the Shevchenko vs Nunes fight - so much make believe - I watched the fight several times and I watched every strike, frame by frame. Most of Nunes' punches do not actually land and yet you get people like Anik getting loud as if he is amazed at how good Nunes is - when in reality - Nunes was being evaded and Shevchenko was landing almost every time. I've been a fan of UFC since UFC 1 - but I must say that even since the beginning - the gambling industry is the only possibility that makes sense when Judges make low IQ judgements.
