A note about Alchemist vs Discard attacks. If you have more than 5, even the discarded ones won't hurt too bad, because you'll be drawing the other Alchemists. As for a second option, it's only worth it if you can actually make use of it; if you can get +buy, and there's other potion cost cards, on top of other Alchemists still in the supply, then a second potion might be worth while - keep in mind that you're not trying to make Alchemist more consistent, but to make getting multiple potion cost cards quicker. Given the overall quality of most potion cost cards as compared to how awful potions are, this is a rarity.

Another note about having 5+ against top deck attacks, wouldn't it be better to put the excess back on top anyway so that alchemist is discarded instead of other actions or treasures being trashed? Like a buffer for the rest of your deck
