American here who spent 7 weeks in Greece. I LOVE Europe. Been there six times. Once for almost 5 months. Beautiful women, great food, living easy, lots of fun, no violence.

He may have been the highest paid in Greece, but not all of Europe. Soccer contracts were pretty huge for the stars by the 80s and 90s.

No, they weren't. The transfer fees were big, but the weekly or game checks were around $40 or $50 thousand for the top players.

Think he realized Chris had just passed away while talking but that year with the Celtics wasn’t good. Got benched and did not get along with Chris Ford at all. Once Reggie Lewis died those were rough years as a Celtics fan. Couldn’t believe they almost beat the magic that year in the playoffs. Still love Nique!

Top earner in the EPL in 95/96 was Dennis Bergkamp who earned $2.7m per year, which is less than Wilkins got in Greence ($3.5m) The thing is at that time Italy and Spain top teams paid more than in England, but I couldn't find any info on how much the specific players were paid then. So actually it was possible that he was paide more than any soccer players.

Man, by The Time Dominique was on The Boston Celtics, He was SLOW AND JUST ABOUT WASHED-UP! I remember Watching Games, and he kept getting STRIPPED, when he attempted THAT SLOW-ASS SPIN MOVE!
