I once ordered a Hawaiian pizza from Dominos, and they forgot the pineapple. So I opened a small tin of pineapple pieces, warmed them up a bit in the microwave, and sprinkled it on the pizza. Then I ate the pizza. The next time I ordered a pizza from Dominos, I asked them to make sure they put pineapple on the pizza because they forgot it last time. When I got the pizza, it had pineapple on it. FIRST WORLD SOLUTIONS.

This video is an audiovisual juxtaposition between the third and the first world. If you are here to comment something along the lines of "just because there are people starving in Africa I'm still entitled to complain about my shitty Domino's service", then you have completely missed the point of this video. It simply expresses how trivial our often seemingly most stressful complaints come up on the bigger picture.
@hand__banana10 жыл бұрын
"trivial" is a joke. Stress etc. is subjective. Of course some starving kid in Africa has it worse than I do. I'm not that kid, that kid is not in my immediate family, thus I have no empathy for him. (at least when compared to my own problems)

You can't say "oh but there are people starving in other countries so it is ok for them to get it wrong. People can't complain." What if you had a mechanic fix your car and he did a shoddy job and didn't fix it right and you went back to get him to fix it up properly and he just said "Nah sorry mate, some people don't even have cars. You should be more grateful." You are paying someone for a product or service. You should be getting what you paid for.

@aznlimecoco Look. I get it that you don't want people whining when you give them something for free. But when you pay 12 bugs for a pizza with salami and you get a pizza margherita (8 bugs) then you have every right to whine about it. You didn't get what you pay for. Let's take a look at your point of view in an extreme situation. Let's say you bought an Audi S3. which costs €49.070,-. But you receive an Audi A3 which costs €24.990,-. I would get mad and start whining because 1. I didn't get the car I wanted. 2. I got a car that's worth €24.080 less then what I paid. But you would just think, mehh, no problem. It has four wheels and it drives so I'm okay with it. But hey, that's just your swing at it, I simply don't agree with your opinion.

You should use it to temper your expectations of reality and use it as a means to understand that you are insulated and your problems don't really matter to anyone but you. If all people adopted a global mindset and put an eye towards change, we wouldn't be in the shit we're in - that's the concept you're supposed to grasp. What you do to internalize the concept is up to you, but at the end of the day, mistakes and delays happen. If you're bitching about slow service or petty desires, you need to step outside of the matrix for a while.
@flectz10 жыл бұрын

@AndersReinhardtHansen10 жыл бұрын
costanza Yeah it does... it really does put your complaint in perspective...
@mathewhogan694610 жыл бұрын
costanza That's a perspective that only people of similar socio-economic status can sympathize with. The point is not to shame, it's to create awareness. Whatever feeling arises from viewing is sovereign to the subject's mind - it's created. You and others create a sense of entitlement even through the shame or guilt you might feel. Rather than widening your perspective, you regress into defending your position when it was never directly under attack. You attacked it yourself through your own doing. The point is to see how petty these problems are in the first place, not to make others feel like they are unworthy, but maybe just a little too close-minded. Think about it. Viewing this doesn't make me feel like I need to defend myself. I give to charity, I promote good will, I have adopted a non-cultural, non-geographical, non-economic based perspective of the world. I plan to do good in the world and I have widened my perspective to understand that my problems may seem valid to me, but in the broad scheme, they are worthless, a waste of time. There will always be someone out there with more or less than you. The objective is to not let these petty emotions and material constructs rule your reasoning. I would never, ever complain about something like this. I would be happy to have food. I would be grateful for privileges like transportation, clean water, and even being able to call someone to bring me food in such a way. Humility is a good thing and it's not easy for people to learn because society, media, culture, and other factors of psychological conditioning are hard to un-learn. The stone cold truth of the matter is, these problems don't matter to anyone other than those concerned with them. However, everyone should be concerned with death, destruction, and disease. The issue that people need to see is they're denying their humanity with ignorance by not putting things into perspective every moment of every day. It's tough. You don't want to hear it. Others don't want to hear it. It doesn't mean that you shouldn't put these stupid ass problems in perspective. I guarantee if your priorities are in the right place, you won't be upset by this. Thanks for reading.

So many people here are missing the point of this video. It isn't saying that we don't have the right to complain about our pizza because people are starving in Africa. Most of the video is of refugees and asylum seekers, with some footage, in particular, of asylum seekers trying to come to (presumably) Australia by boat. Australia has a reputation as being particularly unwelcoming of refugees and asylum seekers and this video is showing many of the same people who possibly support anti-asylum seeker policies whining about their pizzas. Read into that what you will but it's the point of the video and I would have thought that was obvious. The fact that so many people here don't get it suggests to me that the point may not be entirely wrong.
@JohnnysourDemise10 жыл бұрын
The point to the video is nothing of what you said, its a video created playing on a "current issue" or "hot topic" to create views and likes. which in turn create money for the youtuber. Nothing sells more in then "first world problems" then in a first world country. mainly because when people post or make things like this they consider it "doing there share" or "helping". And thats quick lesson on how to go from 600 views to 300,000 views on youtube and make $$$. such as this man
@livepuppies10 жыл бұрын
Regardless of WHY the video was made, you say to make money, the POINT the video makes is obviously exactly what I'm saying. It's showing the disconnect between many Australians and asylum seekers in terms of how they perceive the world. On the one hand labeling asylum seekers as economic migrants who just want to reap the benefits of living in Australia and on the other whining about their pizza. That's the point it's making, it could just as well have shown other cases of Australians whining and make the point that Australians are whiners in general, whine about asylum seekers, whine about the government, whine about their pizza, but in this case the point is pretty clear. It could have shown the thousands of comments on left wing sites bemoaning the election of Abbott and made the point that not every Australian agrees with these policies, but that wasn't the point it was making. Instead it tries to shame Australians by linking slack jawed whiners with first world problems with supporting hardline anti-asylum seeker policies. That said, I don't support the current asylum seeker policies at all, but I still like my freakin' pizza prepared the way I asked for it.

putridpansy1 I think Steve missed the point of the video. The video highlights people acting (or overacting rather) completely foolishly over either nothing or the slightest inconvenience I did not infer from the video at all that it meant that you should be considering African kids as you eat your pizza and "just be glad you have pizza at all" and not complain - The punchline wasn't that they where complaining at all, it was the manner in which they were complaining mind you.

OMG, Stuntbear, where have you been all my life? These were great audio versions of the pain of tortured Aussie pizza customers. But you know what was even better than that? Those wonderful images of people starving and getting blowed to bits by warlords. Those parts of the world where people don't have the will to stand up to the local warlord, with their roving subliterate tween-age rapegangs, are comedy gold. Nothing says hilarious to me like the idea of you sitting in your comfy first-world cubicle making ironic videos showing rape, murder, genocide, and starvation. You seem to have found the key to comedy: The moral rape of Africa by Africans. Keep up the good work and consider me a lifetime subscriber.

actually that was pretty insightful, made me think for a second there :) but still the video is incredibly funny, since you hear peoples small problems, while you see video's of people with extreme problems, while the people with those non significant problems make their problems sound extreme. i hope you're able to see the funny side to the video and yeah you had a good point too.

lool..again with the false analogies. `I dont know what everyones crying about.. the video's not asking you to stop complaining.. its just asking people to be real, and to put things into perspective. The world doesnt revolve around your pizza, but if thats what youre making it out to be, than yea, maybe a reality check is what you need..No one's asking you to stop complaining, but make it worth its valor. Our society has become so money consumed that it cant even recognize that perhaps maybe they should take a step back and see the bigger picture. At the end of the day, appreciating will ultimately leave you more content with life.

This video is simply trying to give some perspective. Don't forget how lucky you are to have these services in the first place. That doesn't mean that you're a bad person for complaining about things, just remember that in the scheme of things, your pizza being cold doesn't actually matter that much.

@FountainMath10 жыл бұрын
To be completely fair, the struggles of one person shouldn't ever be compared to another. A death within a close relationship circle can always be compared to something far worse, but should that lessen the grief of death? On top of that, people have every right to complain about poorly delivered, poorly cooked, or missing food coming from a business. It is expected that the best possible service is given by almost every business. But to wishful complaining like the 'puff pastry guy' is nonsense; be happy with what you can get. But people should always do a reality check on themselves and what they complain about. We may not be able to change the world, but we can make small changes to the lives we encounter.

great video, but lets just keep in mind that people are allowed to have 'complaints' relative to their status. all businesses should have complaints/feedback, these just happen to be significantly funnier especially given the comical rendition of them. Id love to see a similar video where instead of the complaints, theres a compilation of ridiculous product advertisements, and trivial news reports. cos it makes me sick whenever I see the news and theyre talking about shit like beiber but never have I seen them touch topics seen in this video.
@Reinshark10 жыл бұрын
Consumer complaints are an important balancing aspect of the free market. If people didn't voice their dissatisfaction with business actions we'd be another step closer to corporatocracy. Sure, some of these complaints may seem petty, but the fact that worse things are happening elsewhere in the world does not invalidate those complaints.
@Reinshark10 жыл бұрын
***** I work in market research. I KNOW that some businesses DO "give a fuck about customer feedback". I sympathyze with your anti-capitalist sentiment, and I agree that there are big problems in the system, but I also think it's important to acknowledge what we CAN accomplish by letting our opinions be heard in a democratic society. Besides, restaurant franchises aren't really serving a "global market". Domino's certainly has some overarching policies, but the managers of individual franchises do have leeway to make certain adjustments to suit their particular customers.

I don't think people are completely understanding the video. There is nothing wrong with complaining about service; in fact, you have every right to. However, this video is not insisting that you can't complain because there are starving kids in Africa. It simply shows two issues in two different walks of life and juxtaposes them causing you to think "how different are my problems compared to someone else's?" Jesus Christ, some of you guys don't know how to interpret things or even think clearly.

wipeoutxl I know, and as I said; I do get the point. I know its meant to show how people complain over minorities when other people have much better reasons to complain about actual problems. Im sure the maker of this video intended this to be funny. But my point still is that the footage is unfitting and ruins the fun, at least for me. I'd rather just have the complains read up with pictures of people eating pizza or maybe "first world problems". Seeing people in poor situations just makes me feel bad for them.
@excuseme596410 жыл бұрын

So the point is Domino's can make unsatisfactory pizzas for their customer because there are people starving in Africa?
@KingOfShadows150010 жыл бұрын
I know, right? This is something that has always been pissing me off: these fuckers you keep telling you ''Look at the world! There are people starving and dying in * insert country/continent here * and you dare complain about * insert problem here *! You should be ashamed!'' Here's the thing: problems are problems regardless of all the bigger problems that also exist. In other words, the existence of starving children in Africa doesn't make bad services in North America any better. They are two separate things. And then it's not like these people can solve starvation and war, so that argument is really fucking stupid.
@FormerRuling10 жыл бұрын
Not the point at all, as the vast majority of the comments taken were not legitimate complaints about unsatisfactory pizzas/service they were either ignorant comments where no real slight had been done against them, or they extremely overreacted to the smallest slight. The background imagery is to contrast a 'fake problem' with a 'real problem', not to excuse one problem for another.
@norbitcleaverhook504010 жыл бұрын
Anthony Landrum I fail to see how they were not legitimate complaints. Domino's gives us the opportunity to complain so that they can resolve the issues within their stores. Unsatisfactory service should not be accepted just because there are bigger issues in the world. Yes there are some overreactions but these people are just expressing their anger over the money they just spent. No 'Fake' problems, just bigger issues that are unrelated. I take offence to playing the Australian anthem over the video. Are they trying to imply that all Australians are ignorant to the crisis in Africa? I quite frequently watch documentaries on Africa and I am appalled by the standard of living. That being said I will continue to complain when I spend good money on food which is unsatisfactory as they are profiting from me and should be made aware of their poor service (which I'm sure we can all agree is quite often). The only good thing about this video is it has us discussing food shortages in the world but we can be sure this video isn't going to change a thing. The only ones shocked by this are the people who are already ignorant to the cause.

The comments were funny... but did you really need to add the third world stock video in the background? We don't need the comparison between these people's problems and the problems in other countries... It doesn't improve your video and doesn't make people like it more... We know their jerks, we know they're picky and unintelligent.... Putting in the stock video just makes it seem like you're being pretentious...
@youtubewebmaster681010 жыл бұрын
Anyone with an IQ over single figures can see that the creator/uploader of this video, by including the "third world" footage, is making several wide-ranging points that are much more than simply showing 'picky and unintelligent' complainers. The fact that you can't understand or get that doesn't make this video pretentious. Rather, it makes you a haughty twit.
@Too_Tall_6410 жыл бұрын
Oh yes, because 'people are idiots and don't have any care about what's going on around them' isnt clear already in our day to day lives... I know what's he's trying to say, just like every other activist is trying to say... You dont advertise something as one thing and then try to force feed a tired message in with it. It's uncomfortable and irritating And no one really gains anything for it... Like the Lorax movie... sure i heard about the 'green' message it was trying to push, which i dont mind, i love the idea of making the world a better place... but they advertised it like a fun adventure, so i thought i was going ot have a fun adventure... First five minutes i'm greeted with a song with everyone singing about how much they love their plastic world, smog filled air and radioactive kids... That's not what was advertised! I came looking for a fun adventure and i got an uncomfortable amount of "SAVE THE PLANET!" messages... Just like this video. I came expecting a few laughs about terrible people complaining about nothing... but then i had to watch all this blatant "PEOPLE ARE HORRIBLE! THEY DONT CARE ABOUT WHAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT! SAVE THE CHILDREN! STOP THE WARS!" It's a cheap way to force feed a message down someone's throat by misleading them about what they're going to see... Again... I dont MIND the message... yes, people are terrible and dont focus on real problems and whine about their own insignificant issues... I understand that... i love that people try to preach that because it's true... but when you advertise "Fun times for all!" and then show a Sarah Mcglocklin 'puppies and kittens need you' video I'm not going to be happy, and the message will fall flat because it's presented the wrong way...
