Thank you to the who made this. Many people may not know that on Pascha, it is traditional to say Christ is Risen in as many languages as possible. At the Agape Vespers service on Pascha day (Sunday) the Epistle reading is read by parishioners in various languages. (My Parish reads in Greek, Russian, Georgian, German, Spanish, Latin, French, Japanese, Chinese, Tagalog, Yupik).Let us love one another for Christ is Risen from the dead not only for the Orthodox but for all mankind!

There are 3 languages, the second is Latin, this music was used on 3.10 to sing in Japanese. Это не японская версия на 3.10! Это русский поздний партес. Есть такое произведение "Христос воскресе греко-латино-славянский", автор Астафьев. Там 3 языка, второй - латинский, вот эта музыка была использована на 3.10 для пения на японском.

I might wants or reply fully to the comments below about the 'Macedonian Orthodox church'. It is in schism yes. So technically they are not in communion. However - it is incorrect to call them 'non-orthodox' because, their dogma, their canons, their liturgy - in fact everything about them is Orthodox. Let us not forget that almost every jurisdiction in some point of time, was schismatic. Eg) the church of Greece for 50 years after 1821. Or ROCCOR up until 2007. Or even today, the 'free-Serbs'. It is an unfortunate situation yes. However, in turn. Then hymns which are are song are MOST IN FACT ORTHODOX. DOGMATICALLY AND CANONICALLY. To state othewise is UNORTHODOX. Christ is risen! :)
@SpectatorAlius7 жыл бұрын
ROCOR was very careful to avoid actually being schismatic. Neither the OCA nor SCOBA ever declared them schismatic, nor did ROCOR ever declare the OCA and SCOBA schismatic: the real reason ROCOR turned down the opportunity to join SCOBA was because one of the bishops on SCOBA was known to ROCOR to be a spy.

+domkov91 Christ is risen! I enjoyed this video so much, ESPECIALLY the Latin chant portion from 6:50 to 7:15. Can you please tell me the source for that recording??? In the past, I have heard the Easter troparion of the Greek Rite sung in Latin before, but only with foreign melodies (Byzantine, Russian, etc). I have also heard beautiful Latin versions of the Easter troparion that were sung with composed polyphony like this one here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pofWnamad9ydsLc And as an aside, I would definitely recommend people check that one out too, as it is based on an old German motet from the 15th and 16th centuries. But in the case of your video here, the Latin chant really surprised me because it actually sounded like an authentic Gregorian or Ambrosian melody, rather than a Byzantine or Slavic musical adaptation to Latin. I could be wrong, of course, as I am no expert. But nonetheless, if it is what it sounds like, that would be something I would be very interested to learn more about. Please let me know the source of that recording, as you have definitely piqued my curiosity. Thank you!

@kiretrajkov82936 жыл бұрын
Sotieis Mihos I don't think that's how languages are measured. Every language has its root and development process first as a dialect until it becomes a standardized language in a nation state. It's true when you say that macedonian is similar to Bulgarian and Serbian, but so are Serbian and Croatian, Czech and Slovak, German and Dutch or Danish. I think it will be highly inappropriate to say that just because Krieg (German ) and krig (Danish) or König and kong or Majestät vs majestæt are so similar or the same, to say that Danish is not a separate language. But I think everyone will be agreed with you that the names of Alexander or Phillip are of ancient Hellenic origin. However that is not enough to deny the existence of a language, that is as legitimate as any other language in the world.
