Not true and many, too many, leftovers, unfinished stuff, bugs and inconsitant gui. It works, but well, so long time went by and that's it? Take off the content and plugins, how few is then in the update and please read the Steinberg forum to understand how poor this "massive" new version is

I'm glad that Steinberg has continued their focus on thoughtful workflow optimizations and tools that really matter. The MixConsole and range tool updates are especially appreciated. I want to live in a world where my incessant raving about Cubase isn't met with "it's too complicated". Updates like this get me closer.

I've been using Cubase since way before the VST era and consider myself pretty experienced, but it's a side gig/hobby for me so Dom is a very regular source of "holy shit I didn't know that" and I just want him to know I appreciate the hell out of him, and anyone reading this to know that I'm an old head and this dude still teaches me new shit regularly. Easily the best source of Cubase info on the internet, I sincerely hope Steinberg is paying you a salary. Mad respect brother

I love the step editor changes and new multi-part midi editing! The only thing I wish Cubase could adopt is the folder tracks being group channels so I can see folders, both expanded or closed in the mixer and be able to put inserts or sends onto "folder group channels". Maybe Cubase 14!

@@Mars_Monkey can you explain why do you convert? What is the goal? What are you trying to achieve? I mean I never do it and I never wanted to, what am I missing?
@Mars_Monkey
@Mars_Monkey Жыл бұрын
@@SoundPeaks Well, most of the time I like to switch certain drum sounds to mono so that they don't take up too much of the sound field and I like to control the sound field with mono to stereo plugins while mixing the arrangement. Mostly I like to do my bass in mono, and go further into the stereo field the higher the frequency, it keeps the mix down from sounding too muddy. When using plugins like Machine or Reason inside Cubase it always auto-creates stereo buses for the instrument tracks, now you can just switch those channels to mono automatically. Another reason it's good to have this functionality, if you're not using a plugin like Voxengo SPAN or other mid/side plugins, switching the main mix track to mono can help you get rid of any phase issues, making certain tracks in the mix disappear behind other sounds, it's good for mixing clarity. Overall, it was tedious having to open the rendering window anytime you needed to do so, now you just hit the button on the arranger Channel or mixer Track.
@Mars_Monkey
@Mars_Monkey Жыл бұрын
@@SoundPeaks Also, just to add, many other DAWs had that functionality already, so it's nice now to finally have that in Cubase.

I stopped using Cubase after Yamaha bought it and dropped the ball on a controller they were developing for Cubase. I don't even remember the name of that thing. One turn off was when they switched to their own dongle but man o man Cubase is no joke now. I just remember back in the days cakewalk lead on midi and cubase more on audio because of Asio. Now it is clear they are definitely at the forefront. Wow time flies.

Cubase 13 seems to be one of the greatest updates for Cubase in a long time. A bummer that the update fee is 100 Euro, but this time it is a must to update! Now if Steinberg could only make something like the Combinator in Reason for all vst-instrument, effects (and possibly midi effects and multiple mixer channels/groups) that can be saved all togheter (and that you create your own panel for).

Dom, to explain my question from before in the chat : Lets say you have a violin part doubled with 3 libraries, and all layers play the same. I want to edit once and have all changes (pitch, add note, delete note, etc) happen on the 3 tracks. Basically have some events (or even better just some assigned tracks) that are always grouped in editing. Just like you would group audio tracks, and every change you make on one track carries over to the other group tracks. This has not been possible with midi so far in cubase, which is crazy to me, and I'm hoping that the new midi editor features somehow allow linking tracks or events permanently. The only option we have so far is using shared copies of event, with the issue that any change made to the event itself ( like splitting it) transforms it into a non shared copy. I hope my question is clear, thank you!

create a MIDI track and set the 3 instrument tracks to receive MIDI from it
@max8591
@max8591 Жыл бұрын
@@foljs5858 This is not the solution in my particular case. I do not remember exactly but there were several reasons why it didn't work for me. One of them being that sometimes you might need to have slightly altered performances on the tracks. I also think I remember that it created some unwanted behavior with soloing tracks. On top of that, but that's personal, i really dislike the midi track (as opposed to instrument track) workflow. TBH, I think the obvious solution would be to be able to have an "events/edits" button in the track link pannel, where you could set up tracks to always being linked, and being able to bypass that whenever it's needed. But I'll happily take any improvement in that direction, which is why I'm asking the question =) Thanks for the tip though!

I've just tried in cubase 13... It's possible with audio & midi tracks You just have to put selected tracks on a folder and select "group editing" icon on the folder track... then all the cut edit will be for all the tracks together..

@max8591 Жыл бұрын
@@connectedtv_off Thanks for taking the time to try it out! This was the case in cubase 12 as well, all the event edits are working when using a group folder in group editing mode.
