The unaltered banished helm is also worn by a single banished knight in stormveil castle on one of the more hidden paths, the one that requires you to jump on to the thin path shortly before Godrick. The advantage is he sits by himself with his back turned (ez crit or charged heavy) but he is with a single storm hawk. I think this is much easier to farm at lower rune levels.

Got the entire set and both versions of the helmets in stormviel castle - theres quite a few of them patrolling the place - on my first playthrough becasue i was stuck there for so long - wore it all the way till lyndell :D

Ive never seen or heard of the octopus helm. I'm sure I've killed hundreds of those small guys. Guess I still have some farming to do.

I think the Diallos helm looks better with the altered version of Hoslow's set, it makes the whole thing look more streamlined. I use that on my fencer character, it just looks nice with a quick attacker.

The nox night maiden set is actually super easy to farm if you go to nokstella and farm the night maiden that spawns on tbe stairwell in front of the grace.

The altered banished Knight helm was my headpiece throughout the game since i got it from the stormveil castle. Now I'm discovering that some very rare headpieces like night maiden and banished Knight pretty much dropped at my first encounter. Really love the night maiden headpiece too.

All banished knights drop their respective gear. The one in the Stormveil castle rampart tower (downstairs) is ideal for armour (altered) farming.

The Fire Prelate before the bridge (just a little west outside of the Giants' Mountaintop Catacombs SoG) has far fewer mobs nearby and is much closer to the site of grace to respawn. Also drops the whips, so I'd recommend him for farming.

There are 2 banished knights in Castle Sol, the spear and the dual wielding sword version, but I recommend to just farm the spear one for the unaltered armor, the dual wielding one is strong af and can combo you easily.

Something to note as well, is that the black flame monks don't drop the sword they use as far as I know anyways. I farmed the divine tower for literally hours trying to get it before I discovered it only drops from like, two fire monks in game. One of which is easily farmed in MOTG. Although the drop rate for the unaltered banished knight set is low, it's certainly not uncommon to see every damn player wearing it these days! Lol.

Hello, I'm a fellow completionist and the BLOODSOAKED TABARD is also one of the rarest chest armours. It can only be farmed by the horn wielding mausoleum foot soldiers near the Apostate Derelict, in the Consecrated Snowfield. IMO what makes this armour even more unique/challenging to obtain is that you can NOT immobilize the magic raining mausoleum and then rest at a site of grace -- they disappear afterwards. So, if you do not get the drop after taking down the mausoleum it's NG++ for you! No real fashion souls or interesting lore but if you want every armour in the game summon Torrent and evade the magic storm or wait till Late Night to farm.

The unaltered banished knight armour set took me 7 hours of farming before it dropped. I even has the silver tear mask and silver foil foot with 25 arcane

While you are right about the unaltered banished knight's armour dropping from only the two enemies you mentioned, you are wrong about all the rest of both sets as all the knights in stormveil and farum azula drop their respective armour sets that they wear. Not as rare as you think.

I found the farm in stormveil was easier going from the rooftop grace and then doing the roof jump down behind the banished knight takes seconds

Love it!!! I know it is not rare but the raging wolf armor set deserves a honorable mention here. it is missable because players continue into the depths of Volcano Manor before completing the quests for Lady Tanith and Knight Bernahl. I know because I missed it on my first play through! 😅

Pro tip on Nox sets, Flame of the Redmanes and negate your sounds for timely assassination and wide poise punishing attacks that are hard to miss.

My Wife sat watching me grind for the Banished Knight unaltered set the other day on one of my saves - after about an hour of no joy she said and I quote "What the hell are you doing? I've seen you kill him a million times now, aren't you bored?" Me - "No, he has something I need" As I said this he finally dropped it! My wife - "is that it!? All that for a cape!" She isn't a fan of grinding 🤣

Gor the banished knight armor first try. I def recommend a respec and maxing out item discovery. Check out the scavenger occult curved sword build. You’ll do damage and have item discovery. Cheers!
