If you don't know how it works, I can expose it.

@@PreservationEnthusiast I know the workings of the routine. Why would you want to expose it?

@@hraether I often give tips and tutorials in the comments to student magicians who want to know more about the effects. Many people have learned and progressed in magic through my help.

Don’s blue humour is completely lost on this CLASSY woman. Fortunately he benefited from her patience…

"I am one of the few people in this country that has been whiteballed". Gallows humor didn't work with a 1950s tv audience. (Maybe the ones who got the joke were afraid if they laughed, they would be the next in line).

I fail to see gallows humor in this. It is a reference to blackballing - a old form of voting. Right? His humor...is a little dorky. 'The get in their and walk around' line was awkward.

@@senseistrange Blackballing wasn't ordinary voting. It refers to the ancient Athenian custom of banishment, which amounted to a death sentence in most cases. When this TV show was made in the USA in the 1950s, "Blackballing" would have made people think about "blacklisting" which meant people suspected you of communist sympathies and which usually meant you lost your job and no one else would hire you, effectively a form of economic death.
