I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard the objection, “Aw, you Catholics are idolaters. You worship statues. Thou shalt not have any graven images…” and so on and so forth. Whenever I film an episode in front of a beautiful statue of the Madonna, keyboard warriors fly to the comment section. Now, Saint John Bosco is going to set the record straight once and for all, using common sense and the Bible. The saint's mind had a wealth of scriptural knowledge and refutes this heresy in a brilliantly simple and categorical way. If anybody needs to hear this explanation, you can send them a link.

I have a very large statue of Our Lady Help of Christians that overlooks our pool. I wish I could post a picture here but I’m glad to have her protection! My entire home is enthroned to our lady and looks very much like a church. I need these reminders!

I agree, they forget that in the book of Revelation she is the woman clothed in the Sun with the moon under her feet. The queen of heaven in Jeremiah is venus whom the pagans worshiped; Mary on the other hand like Jesus is the Queen of queens as Jesus our Lord is the King of Kings!

Our family often makes fun of the silly prots who object to our statues. When we found a beautiful statue of Our Blessed Mother at a store, we bought it and brought it home. One of our daughters remarked so sarcastically “hey dad, we’re really going to enjoy worshipping this statue, huh?” I’m glad we can laugh about these things.

Jesus never said to trust only the Scriptures but to listen to Him and to do what He asks! Yes, Jesus is WORD and He is not SCRIPTURES!! Jesus is the WORD MADE FLESH and it is a MISTAKE for a follower of JESUS CHRIST to think like a pharisee/scribe : “this is written/this is not written”.

Protestants really need to reflect on just what idolators believed before throwing that accusation at Catholics. Pagans believed that their idols WERE their gods. Not simply icons, but that thier gods resided IN their individual idols. Proof of this can be found in Daniel 14 when the prophet uncovered the deception of the Babylonian priests and the idol of Bel. These pagans believed that the IDOL ITSELF ate their offerings. It was not a matter of them simply saying some prayers to the image, but they thought the image was synonymous with their god

When you die you at least retain your memories. Having prayed the Blessed Virgin Mary/Christ statues does not mean your idolizing them. You are retaning the image of them bec you want to see their once image when they were here on Earth. If you dont recognize them theres a problem. Again when your soul leaves the body, soul will retain the image of them bec BVM/Christ, very bright light, will come approach you, then your soul will say Yes I recognize you both then you will not be afraid. However, for those who thinks its idolatry, i tell you retain of no memories of the statues of BVM/Christ while on Earth then soul leaves body the soul recognize dark only but when light comes or approaches the soul ,he/she will be afraid of light.
