It is piously believed that whoever recites the St. Andrew Christmas novena prayer fifteen times each day from the feast of St. Andrew (November 30th) until Christmas Eve will obtain the favor requested. St. Andrew Christmas Novena Prayer: Hail and blessed be the hour and moment in which the Son of God was born of the most pure Virgin Mary, at midnight, in Bethlehem, in piercing cold. In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee, O my God, to hear my prayer and grant my desires through the merits of Our Savior Jesus Christ, and of His blessed Mother. Amen.

This story brought tears to my eyes. I was so scared for him because of where the story seemed to be going, but was pleasantly happy to learn of his good, happy, and holy death. May he, St Jon Bosco and all of his saintly companions pray for us to take such things seriously and die well prepared.

The one about the boy in mortal sin without knowing it is terrifying, we must make sure we examine our conscience with diligence and with much prayer for God to show us what we must confess

He definitely knew he was in mortal sin and was just in denial. For a mortal sin there needs to be grave matter, full knowledge and full consent of the will. Otherwise Don Bosco wouldn't have called him out on it.
