Contrary to popular belief, Gorgeous George could actually wrestle. The only reason why he was the highest paid professional wrestler of his time was that he wasn't there to display all his wrestling skills but to entertain the fans with his gimmicky histrionics and melodramatic behavior.

He had a drinking problem, he slowed down as he got older and his matches weren't very exciting any more, and he lived pretty high and didn't save money. I"m not aware that he's ever been accused of "killing" pro wrestling, though.

Don Eagle botched the finish. The ref had to pause before 3 to let Eagle get his shoulder up. Then he missed the ref with the first work punch before landing snug with the next couple.

Don eagle was a top athlete as well as his father, they both held degrees in martial arts and if truth be known that it was a real fight it would have only lasted a minute or two before Gorgeous George was sleeping main reason being Don Eagle was twice as fast and far more coordinated they used to tighten their turnbuckles on the ring sold on Eagle could tight rope across it. Just a little bit of trivia War Eagle taught gone eagle and Warren ciciliano the martial arts. Siciliano became a Grandmaster and taught me some of my grandfather's moves
