I don't think younger generations can realize how absolutely iconic this movie is, or how groundbreaking it was at the time. Truly the 70's were a great time for classic animation, this and all the Bakshi movies. When the film came out in 81 I must have seen it like 30 times, in 3 different languages hahaha, and every time had to go with an adult because I was a bit young for uuuh.. all that green stuff thang, and the theatres wouldn't let me in otherwise. And no, Taarna was absolutely not a total fantasy of mine... Still have the actual original movie poster in my office.

@douglas7874 жыл бұрын
Agreed, I love the animation in this film. The computer shit they crank out now is nothing compared to this. Also, I appreciate the work that goes into this, that every frame was drawn and colored one at a time by extremely talented artists.
@synthrogue68564 жыл бұрын
@@douglas787 No, the 'computer shit' they crank out now is far more technologically advanced. I don't mind you and others *preferring* this style etc especially if it's some kind of nostalgia you harbour, the more power to you, I'm glad you still enjoy it...but getting on your elitist high horse about it somehow being superior to massively advanced technology and modern methods is trying way too hard to be the cool edgey underground minority. Todays digital artists still pour hundreds of hours and bucket loads of effort and skill into animation just as they did back then. If anything modern methods require even more manpower to fine tune into much cleaner and more realistic imagery. I too grew up watching 80s and 90s cartoons but I can objectively understand they're not a patch on the animation of today in terms of quality.
