I wish I would've started hanging my cameras higher years ago. Just started doing that this past season and was amazed at how fewer deer noticed them! Helped me harvest my largest archery buck to date last November. Great tip!

Great advice, it took me awhile to figure out that the large bucks or buck avoids the camera. The bucks are still being seen in person and we know they're still there, but do not walk in front of our cameras once they know where they are. Thought I was the only one that noticed this.

Great advice Don.!! Have always waited to little later....Wait for them to develop more, plus I'm not likely to go check them as much !!! I also agree with the fact that mature bucks are VERY AWARE and often know something is up. Thanks again

I agree, I hang my cell cameras and don’t go back them until it’s time to hunt the location and my batteries get close to need changing. About 6 weeks out. This keeps the area free of human traffic.

Thanks again for sharing all this info you do! Do you have any advice for what real world blend would be best for rocky ouachita foothills pine farm 40k acre area of pine farm timber co land and we plant the lanes after thins and log landings etc and started the roll spray buffalo type method last year so we would be seeding into a dead mulch layer. We tried bio mass and beans and lab lab actually grew thigh high so I think we can at least try beans and I’ve had good luck with clovers

What's your thoughts on infared or blackflash do infared scare mature deer?

some bucks dont seem to be scared of any type of camera while others seem to freak-out over any kind. That is why I prefer the cautious approach; if I can get photos of the nervous bucks, I can easily get photos of the others

Would the height of the camera matter? I’m 6’4” so I can hang my camera high and angle down. Is this a good idea?

June ….july…. Still 3 months before season . So i don’t think you accomplish anything by waiting an extra month to spook him . If thats the reason for waiting ( first time in ….)

I understand you have a professional camera guy, and your content is great, but i find the constant switching from having you facing the camera to having you quartering your gaze to the left or right on most of your videos, amateurish, distracting, and impersonable. Supposedly, your talking to me. You need to be looking at me when your talking to me. It's simple communication skills 101. Your not making an action movie. Nobody else does this on instructional videos if that's of any consequence. It looks silly and pretentious.

I kinda wish they would make cameras illegal. So many hunters rely on there camera's! And they only hunt there when they they get pics of good buck. So many nice buck would survive without camera's. Not saying I don't use them I do I have 3 camera's. A lot if guys wouldn't no how and were you hunt without them.

@@tinamnx7205 I agree with you. Not about making them illegal, although I wouldn't be upset if they did, but the fact that cameras make hunting too easy. I've been saying for years that I was a better hunter 30 yrs ago than I am now, because back then I had to figure the deer out on my own. Now I just put out a bunch of cameras and hunt where the cameras tell me to.
