Don McPherson on the past, present and future of SU football; Was Coach Jack right to call out fans?

On this episode of Syracuse Sports presented by Crouse Health, Brent Axe addresses SU women's basketball coach Felisha Legette-Jack calling out SU fans for not going to the JMA Wireless Dome in bigger numbers to support her team. Brent discusses if she was right to call out SU fans and what solution there is (if at all) to get more fans to the games.
Brent also chats with Orange QB legend Don McPherson, who finished second in voting for the Heisman Trophy in 1987. Axe and McPherson discuss Kyle McCord's seismic impact on the Orange in just one season, how SU will move on from the record-setting QB and if alumni relations with former players is improving under Fran Brown. Brent and Don also share memories and stories of former SU coach Dick MacPherson, who was recently inducted onto the Ring of Honor at the JMA Dome.

I’ll say maybe the unpopular opinion but it is time for Coach Jack to move on. That was bad, real bad. I’m doubting she is the right coach. I appreciate her playing time etc but it’s time. I don’t believe she is the answer going forward. I will add that Fran is the right coach for the job and a HUGE thank you to McCord as well. Great story about Coach Mac after the ‘86 Rutgers game.

Does an Albany mens program get 2000 fans a game.? I am not in 'Cuse but try to get there twice for BB and twice for FB. If the women are playing I will make that effort. I really wish her the best

Surprising the football team is superior to the basketball team, I spent hours in Archiblad gym in the 80's. Never thought the B-ball program would sink so low.

They have lost their minds. You earn respect. “We don’t love her the way that I think they should” No I don’t love you at all, nor any other coach with the programs here in Syracuse. She’s insane, blaming the fans for her losses. Man up!

Have the woman play just before the men game. So you expose ppl to the woman team to the fans that come early

Well, well, well, I remember the days playing ball, coaching ball and there were not too many fans; who cares, you signed up to play, you signed the dotted line to coach. The truth is most people don't care about women's sports or sports in general. Coach your not being disrespected or loved. The people just are not concerned. So, just coach and play the games the fans are not playing you all are so get with it. Jesus was crucified on Calvary' s Cross by himself look at what victory he won over hell, death, and grave. Now play ball.
