It blows my mind that Nellie's career spanned from playing with Bill Russell to coaching Steph Curry. Thats practically the entire evolution of the game.

The story of basketball cannot be told without Nellie. Being connected to Bill Russell, Steph Curry, and Popovich 3 of the greatest winners. But Nellie himself never coaching to a championship is crazy! He’s a legend, and under appreciated forreal

Although I was a huge fan of the Philadelphia 76ers when they were good during the 1980s, I had nothing but huge respect for Don Nelson's Milwaukee Bucks during that period. That team was definitely good enough to compete with the big boys. They were oh so close. But the Lakers, Celtics and Sixers just simply had that one more factor over those very good Bucks teams. Those Bucks teams were loaded with talent!

I love Nellie!! :) It was a joy seeing him coach the Golden State Warriors when I lived in the Bay Area in the mid 90's. Love you, Coach!

Don was a fine, hard working player, and great coach. And he was a great Celtic ☘! Most of all Don Nelson always represented the NBA with class. If he was a few years younger I think he would be a great candidate for commissioner. Nice speech, Coach. "Congratulations" !!!

Well then, you remember the only non-self-centered thing from MJ's speech. You know nothing about Don Nelson. He was a class act. MJ still at 50 feels like he's the greatest ever, and he was, but he doesn't have to preach it all the time so people don't forget him.
@scottipippen655410 жыл бұрын
nice try. Did you see MJ sitting in the stands? Did you see his face when Nellie said Dream Team II ;-)? There is no team out there, that could compete with the 96`Bulls team..best tream ever:)
@rawn42035 жыл бұрын
Puh-leez........lakers and celts of the 80s could easily compete with those bulls teams. Shit the pistons of the late 80s and early 90s even could.

If Don Nelson coached the 95-96 Orlando Magic, they most likely would have beaten the 96 Bulls.

How is the quality of this speech related with my respect for the game, or even with the opinion I have for Don Nelson whatsoever? Your logic is a mess, mate.
