From a person who has wrestled, it's like this. Are the punches, kicks, elbows and knees pulled? Yes, they are supposed to be. Some people feel the need to completely forget what wrestling is all about and not pull them. That's another story. Are the slams, throws and drops fake? No, they fucking hurt. Your opponent is protecting your neck and head, but landing on your back on a hard surface hurts very much. The only way to survive is to develop a tolerance to it. Some rings are softer and have more give, but for all intents and purposes, they are a solid surface and landing on them isn't fun. Try falling backwards onto your carpeted floor... it's about the same. I've had people tell me that the WWE rings are the worst and if you watch their shows you can basically tell that they are. They have no give, no bounce and barely move upon impact. Compare them to an ECW ring. It's crazy because a lot of guys feel that a soft, bouncy ring is more dramatic, which anyone who has seen RVD take a Piledriver can attest to. Personally, I hate chops. That shit is so pointless and nine out of ten times 100% real, especially open-handed ones. That's just a cupped hand crashing into your chest as hard as humanly possible. Some wrestlers know how to throw a decent chop that will basically brush right off while still making a sound, but they are few and far between.

If you watch this guy in his wide world of sport days in Britain, you can see he is one extremely talented wrestler, who could wrestle or fight, and was as tough as they come. Back in the day, alot of people would challenge these guys because wrestling was "fake", but in real life these were some of the toughest mofo's around. lots of stories of pro football players getting their asses handed to them on a platter after a "fake" comment .

Wrestling is not fake, it’s scripted, it’s business, it’s entertainment & it’s a lot more than all of that. I always find it kinda funny when people say wrestling is fake. the matches are scripted but the bumps are very real. Look at Mick Foley's I Quit match with The Rock, Rock lit him up with several savage and hard chair shots, he got thrown off of the top of the hell in a cell and was chokeslammed through the roof! which is about maybe 15 feet. Or the TLC matches etc. Sure it's for entertainment but there's a reason why people like Edge, Austin, Tazz, Bret Hart, Paige etc had to retire, the end result of moves they took in the ring.

WWE is entertainment, the thing with wrestling in the WWE is that the matches are scripted, the wrestlers know who is going to win /lose etc before the match, but the actual match between the wrestlers with all the moves they do isn't fake, they're trained professionals to do moves that obviously could kill cunts in a safe way and that's what makes WWE entertaining, the wrestlers communicate with each other on what they're gonna do etc they're are some videos on KZbin showing wrestlers in the ring actually talking to each other but yeah essentially that's what it is

If it wasn't the age of internet/youtube whole gimmick of wrestling being real would have been legit for lot more of people than now. I still agree the stunts they do are very dangerous and prone to injury but them taking pride on being fighter is wrong they can't even take on washed up mma guys. It's like they have more pain tolerance than most of people but that doesn't make them fighter.

I'll just say this as an un-biased wrestling fan. Pro wrestlers obviously don't take as much damage as MMA fighters or Boxers. They come out and perform every week. They're not put in tight chokeholds and submissions, they barely make contact on punches and kicks, and they're trained not to land on their heads and how to take as less much of impact as possible during slams. After a while, yea they're probably worn out, but they honestly don't take much damage in their standard 5-15 minute wrestling match. Most of the time wrestler's injuries are caused by their own mistakes as they are legitimately trained athletes, they are trained to avoid getting hurt.
@austinfrombustop
@austinfrombustop 9 жыл бұрын
Tell that to Mick Foley, or The Undertaker, or John Cena , or Lita, or Edge. All these wrestlers have had career threatening injuries yet they would still wrestle 320 days per year where boxers and mma fighters BARELY fight. They do take a lot more damage.
@KRiZZxTV
@KRiZZxTV 9 жыл бұрын
austinfrombustop You just said MMA and Boxers barely fight..come on now. Mick Foley has cut himself a lot, and injured himself a lot. Wrestlers are trained specifically NOT to get injured. MMA fighters get punched and busted open nearly every fight, broken noses and legs are eminent. Boxers and MMA fighters are actually FIGHTING, they're hurting each other on purpose. They get KNOCKED OUT. They regularly suffer concussions. When a wrestler is injured, it's because a mistake either he or his opponent has made. They're less injuries in wrestling than the UFC, NBA, NFL, NHL, MLB or any other sport.

KRiZZxTV No there isnt, every time wrestlers STEP in the ring some injury occurs because unlike all other sports, WWE Wrestler fight every day. Wrestlers get concussions all the time, check out Roman Reigns Twitter page, he got his eye split open because of a simple clothesline, Melina Perez tore her ACL, TWICE, Lita broke her neck, Cena broke his collar bone. These type injuries dont occur in other sports as often as they do in the WWE.

Not impressed, if what Finlay says is true. If it is, not impressed, or intimidated. Breaking people's thumbs, over wrestling, doesn't prove you are a badass. It proves you are a bully. I don't believe it is true, as nobody ever presses charges against Finlay. Yeah, right!

There is always someone tougher. Also, for someone to trust you enough to give you their hand, and then you try to damage them due to a verbal disagreement, thats crap. I'm sure he had misconceptions about things he was ignorant of as well, if everyone of those people busted his skull trying to prove a point, he wouldnt have a head.

I was a kid and loved the colour green. My brother, who is 2 years older than me, introduced me to WWE. I think you know where I'm going with this. Finlay was my favourite wrestler when I was young but I never fully admired his work ethic. Now that I am grown up, I see him not as a professional wrestler, but a fighter. I wouldn't want to be in the same room as him if I pissed him off.

Like so many others, you miss the point of professional wrestling. It's predetermined, yes, but to be a wrestler requires an extraordinary tolerance for pain, and if you don't think they're athletes, you're just plain ignorant. We watch it for the same reason we watch movies: it's more entertaining than the "real thing." go to an mma event, than a wrestling show, and you tell me which crowd made more noise, and had more energy.

People will never understand until they take endless chops, bumps, have a match. I've been in a lot of fights & let me tell you wrestling is far more painful & it is an art form. It easier to beat someone up in reality than it is to work a match where you're actually taking care of each other.

Stuntmen also are injured frequently. Nobody’s saying it’s not dangerous, or that you don’t have to be tough but they are not fighters. You can’t say they’re fighters if they don’t fight and it’s not some unknown fact that they don’t fight. People say wrestling is fake because it’s as real as a movie is.

I can't justify breaking someone's thumb just because they made fun of you or your profession. But at the same time, Finlay's story really made me smile. Admit it. You've wanted to do that at some point. Think of all the trolls on KZbin who go to videos for no other reason than to say something is "fake and gay." We need Finlay to break their thumbs, so those trolls wouldn't be able to type or masturbate anymore (the only two things they're probably good at, LOL!)

It's funny how it's usually MMA fans that knock wrestling. These were probably the same people who were following the advice of hulk hogan when they were much younger and were backyard wrestling in their teen years. Don't think that MMA is innocent when it comes to being scripted or "faked." it's super simple to say to your opponent before hand "hey let's dance around for half the round, then do some mat wrestling for the rest, and in the second round i give you a few good shots and finish with a kimmura. is that good with you?" and have the other person reply with either a positive answer or "no let's do this instead." Every sport on the planet can be or has been in the past fixed, rigged, or scripted

I've been in a lot of fights growing up. I know what it feels like to get struck in the nose, jaw, etc. And I know what it feels like to hit someone in the face too. Trust me-there's a lot of blood in a REAL fight. The punches they throw at each other are NOT straight to the nose or the face because how would they wrestle every night with a broken nose or jaw or a concussion? UFC-that's totally REAL! Those are REAL bare knuckle fights that don't last 10 or 15 minutes with a bell. yes IS a tough

@@danmccabe2800 imagine you spend a bunch of money on a UFC pay per view and it ends in a 30 second TKO. In pro wrestling, you're not gonna get that. Yes MMA is real and they are legitimately fighting to beat the other and wrestlers are more so working together as to entertain you, the bodily risks are still the same. Pro Wrestlers will wrestle more often out of the year than a MMA fighter will fight. Go watch a wrestling injuries compilation video and see if it's "fake" or not.
