WWE matches are predetermined, but wrestlers do a lot of improvisation while in the ring. During one of my matches, my opponent improvised and did something that forced me to go off script. I share what he did and what I did to him in this video.

You've said it before, everything in wrestling is about Respect. That's the main 'currency' you have and the only thing someone else can increase or diminish as a result of their actions. Whether intentional or not, you were disrespected, lowering your perceived status. Having the wherewithal to push back against that was 100% necessary given those circumstances. You had to show that you weren't going to sit there and take it.
@boraonline7036
@boraonline7036 7 ай бұрын
And still someones who beahaved as disrespectful as you can imagine in Japan, while the Internet was watching what he did, got a job as a wrestler in that very company. So I guess respects only goes as far as the boss says "I don't care". Not saying that showing respect should go out of the window. I just say it seems there are double standards going on, at least in WWE, with those respect rules.

Maven, This reminds me of a video with KoKo B Ware. I think his opponent tried to go into business for himself and Koko leveled him with a clothesline. Your clothesline sent a message as well. Great job on letting him know he was a guest in your house.

A friend of mine who used to wrestle said the reason why he was regularly booked was because he had no problem putting over other, bigger talent by getting squashed in quick matches. Those who try to put themselves over (main character syndrome) would not be asked back. This is a great example of this, and a great story behind this match, Maven!

Masada is a legend in his own right, but he had to learn to get where he is today. What you did in this match is something that he'll never forget, and it was, even if he doesn't know it, was to his benefit.

This is a cool channel, my first day watching some vids here, I'd heard somewhere Maven did not like talking or being asked about wrestling, whether that was false or he's changed his stance, I love seeing people embracing past roles/jobs and talking so positively and wholesomely about it even if it wasn't so great at times. If you can laugh and reflect on the past, it just does you good in the present and future. I will watch more. I remember this match, I'd enjoyed Masada in ROH around this time so it was fun to see him in a WWE ring. Very interesting to hear this story, as a viewer I was completely unaware of the off script parts of it and it's fun to hear the full story from laying out the match to backstage after, I was left with no questions, very satisfying story. Thanks Maven.

Maven, I wanted to thank you for two notable things with your KZbin channel. For one, I really enjoy how you break things down and explain how things happen in the match, and how things work behind the curtain as well. I also really like your method of explaining. I feel your teaching background shines through in that aspect. I recently started a job as a substitute teacher, and never really considered myself a "talker", but I had to learn quickly with this job. Your videos seem to help me figure that part out, as well. Maybe it's just because I'm more of an introvert at heart... but hey, we all can change ourselves, right? :> Thanks for reading this!

6:20 The crowd popped the hardest actually during the time when you clotheslined him and threw in all those punches. Crazy how the best moments in a match are most likely from all those off-script moments
