Its 2011, im 9 years old. I'm sitting at my family computer playing Minecraft for hours on a sunny Saturday afternoon on summer break. My dad surprises me with a plate of snacks to support my hobby. Life is good, he has not hurt me yet. I did not know this would be my last year of peace. I can not go back to that safety, but maybe I can find comfort in the nostalgia.

Coming home after my graduation, this popped up in my feed. Honestly, 2 years ago I would have been happy to graduate, but now I realized, I am never going to wake up at 7:30 again, I am never going to meet my friends before school again, I am never going to get hit with another suspension because of a stupid stunt or how I am never going to stress over an exam that would ruin me. Most of all, I am never going on another class trip, having deep talk with friends, I am never going to have another highschool crush again let alone experience teenage love the same way ever again. I graduated as one of the best in my class and I had one hell of a time, I am obviously sad but also happy that it's over. Now I will move onto college with just a quarter of my close friends from highschool. God, I will always remember them, cherish the memories I made in that school that I once hated, I will always respect the teachers that put up with me and taught me valuable lessons.

Listening to this helped me remember all of the amazing memories I had as a kid... all of the traumas I went though, all of the amazing, beautiful, heartfelt memories I wish I could keep in a box with me forever... to all of the challenges I went through, all of the times I didn't give up, no matter how hard life was. It helped me think about the future... all of the memories I want to make for myself... with my family, my boyfriend, with me, and the future friends I haven't met yet. Making friends has always been hard for me, but I want to continue to push myself... to meet new people... learn their stories, and maybe make a few friends along the way... To live a full life, with all of its ups and downs... To be happy, to be sad, to be angry, to be scared... I want all of it. I want love. I want heartbreak. I want to live. I want to live. I'll be turning 21 soon, and I know my life is just getting started. Sure, my childhood may have ended... and I'm never going to get those moments back... but I'll always be able to look back at them with fondness. I'm happy I got to experience them, even if it was just once. And I'll continue to live my life to the absolute fullest.

Brings back memories of a 10/11 year old me getting moderator on a Minecraft server (I lied about my age and said I was 16 on the application), building stuff in creative mode, coming up with stupid projects, I remember building a huge cruise ship and being really obsessed with boats back then. I had this one friend named sand who I met on that server. Me and him were basically best friends for an entire year, and now I barely even remember his name. I thought that server was my whole world, and at the time it kind of was. I'm 20 years old now, listening to this in my college dorm room. For just a second, I felt like I was 10 again.

this school year ive met so many great and awesome friends. Without them I wouldn't even know where I would be right now, Im in 7th grade and the last month of this school year is ticking an impending doom of summer. A few of my friends are in 8th grade and migrating off to high school next school year, while some of my 6th grade friends are staying until i eventually go off to 8th grade too. I love choir, especially my school choir. Choir is what kept me going. Choir is where I met almost all of the people I hang out with now. I know that once this year ends, since my friend group consists of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders, things will never be the same between us. It breaks my heart to think about talking to someone one last time. After that, we might not even remember each other. Even though I remember everything, I always overthink about whether people think about me the same way. Remembering each and every interaction we've come across together. Especially this one 8th grader. He has made me see the benefit of an actual friend. He's so nice and social, he always knows what to say in trying times and he knows how to talk himself out of any hole he gets into. He's one person that I genuinely love to be around and both his presence and absence is very strong. My whole friend group of 11 choir people, will truly never be the same without him. This year has been one of the best and worst years of my life, and I couldn't have gotten through it without the 11 people together by my side. Personally, I'm very emotionally sensitive, and to be fairly honest, I'm still getting over my friend leaving me to move all the way across the world in 2nd grade. over 5 years ago... I really don't know how I'm going to cope without the friends I have now, but just remembering all of the great times we had together where we sang as one group -- one body and subject that brought us all together by one common hobby: singing.
