Well all I've ever learned is that if you see something before someone else does it's kinda fair game. I try not to be too bummed if I lose out on a good find as I sometimes end up finding something better and cheaper

Especially if you are the person who asked for it and then someone jumps in. I agree with you about staying positive. There are tons of sales out there. You just got to move one. You never know what the next sale will bring.

I had someone bring out some games/systems once on an ask, and there was a ps2, n64 with games and controllers, and an og xbox. As soon as he laid them out on the table, someone came up and asked about the n64 as I was talking prices with the seller. I told the guy, sorry but I'm buying it all. You snooze, you lose!

In MY humble opinion, the guy standing there merely asking to buy an empty box that might could have just been getting ready to be thrown away was no big deal as in his mind he had no intentions for the comics just an empty box. What IS weird was the seller's mindset that, while you were literally standing there with the comics that he had just handed you was to tell the box guy he could have the box for $5.00 thinking he was not only selling an empty box but the box with said comics in it!! Now THAT was rude as he had literally just handed the comics to YOU and just sold them right out from under you. Now THAT was the weird part. Who does that? LOL

The whole situation was super weird. I asked the seller for games. He brought me out a ps3 box full of comics, lol. The guy who got the box was asking for gold/silver and then jumped in on the box. I def agree that the seller caused a lot of confusion.

He did kind of jump in but the seller was not very clear up front about the comics and the box for five dollars. The seller put the box down I think with the intention of putting the comics back in but when the other fellow wanted the box the seller sold. After a little time and talking about possible confusion, the other person was kind enough to offer it back and you were kind enough to let it go. Just another day in the life of human interaction and communication which can sometimes be frustrating, but the best thing is everyone seemed to be civil.

I think this is on the fringe of “stepping in on your deal” while I personally wouldn’t have done it, it’s not like the guy asked about the comics. It wouldn’t have really bothered me.

I do buy a ton of video game stuff. I asked the guy if he had any other game items and he brought me out the box. I just think it could of been handle differently. The guy was passing out business cards trying to buy gold/silver. He wasn’t even looking for anything else until the guy brought me out the box.

Had a large video game deal in the making at a sale and someone showed up and inserted themselves in to my deal. The seller had no interest in selling to them since I inquired first. They wouldn’t go away and continued to throw dollar amounts out. I walked away with a great deal and a headache

That was more of the sellers fault not paying attention. You literally asked for the box of comics....not just a random Playstation empty box, lol. A couple of banger books in that stack, depending on the condition, they looked pretty beat up. Banger haul my dude & and I'm still getting things around to send to you. Keep it rocking & much ❤❤

I asked a lady how much a riding toy was, and she gave me a price and some other lady said I'll take that too and the seller just said ok. I probably should of said something but I figured the lady needed to feel super important standing next to her 90s entertainment center made of pressed wood she just bought. This was probably 2012-2013.

I can see it both ways. I asked the guy if he had more old games. The owner said “i do have something you may like” He brought me out a gaming box. Which surprisingly had comics in there. The guy was there passing out his business card to buy gold/silver. He wasn’t even in the conversation. He def interjected himself in ours but I can see both sides of it.

When a seller is engaged with a potential customer at a yard sale, you should just stand back and wait your turn. IMO, that guy asking for the empty box was the same as if he said “I’ll give you $5 for that Spider-Man comic book!” Just sit back, be quiet and patient. It’s really not that hard.

I always learn from watching your KZbin videos! You give great tips!! I had a similar experience, I was talking to the seller,who was elderly, and telling me about some of the items that I was interested in, and another buyer came out of nowhere, and scooped up several of those items that I had shown interest in. While I was standing there talking to the sellers! But, I didn’t put them aside.. So it was kinda my fault!!!🤬

13:42 I could be wrong, but that looks like a Hamilton Beach Toastation unit, red. It has a toaster oven on the front and can make toast on the top, a combo unit. If that was it, those go used easily for 50 bucks or more. I had a silver/black version and it sold for 60 plus shipping.

I had a neighbor once who held a grudge against me because I bought the lighthouse at a yard sale 3 doors down. Apparently he went and saw it but didn't buy it. When I sold my house 5 yrs later, he came over and said "I want that lighthouse, so don't get rid of it because I want it. He also wanted my bird bath. He didn't offer to pay?

I don't think the guy did anything wrong. You said 'old comics' and the seller placed the box on the ground. The other guy said he would buy the box. So first off, the seller assuming the other guy wanted the comics in the box should have said 'wait, this guy here is looking first'. The other guy realizing the comics went with the box offered it up to you, so as not to be 'that guy'. Only the seller was in the wrong here.

Makes me ill to see such rude behavior! That was a slant on something Ice seen twice in Tennessee videos. One person has a goodie in their hands as they search and another comes and takes it, saying that she/he had just paid for it, which they had. It's really sneaky and dirty. Glad you got the comics!

Every utube reseller is a rip off. People see what u paid for it why are they gonna pay 3-5 times what u paid for a used item. Normal people like us usually buy for ourselves and you guys want to jack up the sellers price on Ebay so everything goes up at sales because they see people flipping their stuff

Yes, we find items to buy at a discounted rate. We then sell them at market or below market value. I’m not sure how that is a rip off. Sellers don’t make the market value, buyers do. What someone is willing to pay for an item is the decision of a buyer, not seller. There is a 134 million users on eBay. Compared to the 10k that watch a video. I’m sure resellers have had some impact on price but it’s not as big as you may think when you compare the numbers of the two.

It was a empty box. If he butt in the comics maybe but even still has the right that's why know how to do a deal before he drops that box you say how much for everything or all the comics lay your claim yes you don't see what's in the box but garage sales are Gamble's anyway. Even bins I can look at one or 2 thing and immediately just say how much for the whole thing ok then ALL of that is your clsim. That ps3 box was fair game. Kinda shows everyone who watches you including me who you really are on the inside. You were very blessed very very all of us reseller's watched you get great new family Guy figs and you got hurt or in your feelings over a busted ps3 box. Not even styrofoam no manuals maybe I could see still wouldn't be cutting into your deal but I can kinda see but your butt hurt or again in your feelings over a beat down ps3 box after you scored huge on some family Guy stuff? Yeah you probably should have left the ps3 anger out. I wasn't angry I'm sure is your response. Ok. Whatever's making you feel better but you we're. I am not but hurt over the situation, lol. I kept this in because I wanted to start a discussion about the situation. I originally asked if he had any games not comics. He brought me out a gaming box and surprisingly it was filled with comics. The guy stepped in and tried to buy the box. Yes, I get that it only a box. That's why I told him to keep it. This situation happens all the time at garage sales. I have seen some extreme situations where people take things from people's hands or come behind them and offer more money for the items. I just wanted to see everyone's perspective on the situation and what people think is appropriate or not at garage sales. I appreciate you taking the time to comment and for watching my videos.

I’m not gonna lie, if I come across a deal happening and there are insane grails in the lot and the price being negotiated for a low, I wont mind jumping in and turning it into an auction. Only if it’s grails that I would otherwise probably never ever come across again, I wouldn’t mind auction but if it is everyday stuff I wouldn’t butt into the deal

I got no problem if you dont have a problem something else happening coming out of that scenario. One person tried that with me, he got smacked and ran off like a wimp. This is online so I dont expect anyone to believe me. Just be careful, you might run into someone who can get upset for taking food out their kids mouth. Cant wait for the responses.

The purpose of this was to get peoples opinions on the matter. I see more aggressive situations happen like this all the time. People getting pushed or people coming up and offering more money when someone is in the middle of negotiations. I can see both sides of it. Honestly, the seller in this situation probably created more confusion then anything. You think there was nothing wrong and I respect your opinion. If you look in the comment you can hear some horror stories of other buyers. That’s was the purpose of this.

But in this instance my opinion is the buyer did nothing wrong, the seller was confusing and you should have said something immediately. I know you were focused on what you were looking at but it gave the impression you weren’t interested in the box. I really don’t think it was egregious at all. I, like you have seen way worse trust me.
