When you pulled up those huge containers, I was like, "oh she aint playin!". 😂 But on a serious note, thank you for this video. This had a ton of info and was exactly what I was looking for in terms of advice in this area. I have been trying to determine what direction to go in for fragrances in candles. 💯💯💯💯💯

This is very helpful. Thank you! Because of you, I bought all 13 FO in 16oz bottles today. I only have vetiver in 4oz bottle, and smell it to make sure I want to order big bottle, but then I decided to F it, and just ordered it. So yah all thanks to you! Hopefully CandleScience give you compensation for what you do. Because you are very helpful and the way you communicate the smells is on another level. So far, you are the best one in my opinion to explain about fragrance simply and beautifully. Thats how you got me bought all that you mentioned. Again, thank you. ❤️✨

Great video! I am currently only making candles for my personal use and I love experimenting with blending. This video was super helpful! Would you consider making a video about wicking? I know there are lots of variables when selecting a wick, but any tips you have would be appreciated!

I came for the candle content but stayed for the accent 🤣. I was born in Boston but have been living in Cali for over 30+ years. I miss that accent soooo much. Loved this video - and many of your top 10 (13) are in my stash as well 👍. I can second the recommendation for Little Bee Scents. I’ve used some of her FOs and they are AMAZING. A little on the pricier side, but worth it in my opinion. I’ve watched a couple of your other vids and really appreciate the honesty in your critiques, assessments, etc.

@@couturehomeandbody I like their Peppercorn = wicked pissah, IMHO. I also like their Woodland Fern and Frankincense & Myrrh- but I’ve noticed folks can get a little testy about Frank-n-M so you can just take it as a data point that I liked it - doesn’t mean anyone else will. Oh and I really liked their Jesus FO (thank you repressed catholic upbringing 🤣) but I found out later that that one is not phthalate free (which is a no go for me). Ginger Root and Dry Creosote are worth a try too.

I’m from Boston, born and raised! I have blended Palo Santo & Sandalwood with LE as well as Oakmoss and Amber. It’s earthy and smokey and delicious. If you’re looking for less earthy, try blending more lavender or try peppermint & eucalyptus. It totally transforms. I really enjoy LE for my personal stash 🤗

So i am a newbie, and i did talk to a lady that owns a mexican boutique. She wants me to do a Day of the dead candle, with a marigold fragrance. Any ideas to mix with it?

I’m not super familiar with marigold. Makesy makes gorgeous oils and they have a Marigold & Cedar Musk you could check out.

Hi, I stumbled upon your videos and found them very helpful. Im new to candle making and after hearing you talk I was excited that you might be in the Boston Area ( due to your accent) Im in Peabody Ma. I then watched your moving vlog and learned that you had just moved from L.A. to San Diego. LOL. Although I was born in Boston, I moved to California in 1992. I started in San Diego,then moved to L.A. (Venice Beach, West Hollywood). I moved back to Boston about 5 years ago....took me a while, but realized I was always a new englandah.... Anyway, I really like your videos and subscribed. I find them wicked helpful. Good luck and keep up the good work. P.S. Im a graphic designer by trade, so if I can help you out, just give a hollah.... I owe you!!!! I saw your video when you went to the market...I agree.... I love your sign too! Cheers Chuck

When you have your blends made up, do you like to rebottle them so you can work from the exact amount each time? When doing the math for making other type products like room sprays how do you figure the amounts to be used since they are mixed? I hope my question makes sense because this is one thing that has stopped me from blending my own. Thank you.
@couturehomeandbody8 ай бұрын
Hiya Sandra! I don’t pre bottle my blends. I have all of my product formulas automated in an excel sheet so all I have to do is input what and how much I’m making and it tells me how much I need of each oil. Creating a document like that has helped me tremendously! Amount of Fragrance Oil (in ounces) = Total Volume of Product (in ounces) × Desired Fragrance Strength. For example, if you're making a 4-ounce room spray and you want a fragrance strength of 3%, the calculation would be: Amount of Fragrance Oil = 4 ounces × 0.03 (3%) = 0.12 ounces. So, you would need 0.12 ounces of fragrance oil for a 4-ounce room spray with a 3% fragrance load. To split that between two fragrance oils, you’d half the 3% and add 1.5% of each FO. Hope this helps!
