I’ve did a similar build last month but also added a Converter Inverter for Bosch Professional 18 V Battery (you can find for other battery brands also), then added a Bosch battery and hooked the plug to it. When I want to raise or lower, I just turn on the button of the inverter, no need to hook it up to the wall. Truly portable workbench!

I really don't have space for this, but I could not resist. Something else will have to go. Thanks for the discount code. Donated. What a spectacular gift you made. I think I may make a wider top and add a steel sub-frame to push the front wheels out farther.

Another Jackman Works masterpiece. A thoroughly enjoyable video. Before you even showcased the sponsors (and they deserved the mentioning) I was thinking about how well you always showcase your sponsors without detracting from the video. You just do what you do, and do it well with good stuff. An amazing workbench built for an amazing cause. Well done!

A great idea for people with different disabilities. I have degenerative disk disease in my neck and my lumbar is in horrible condition. I haven't had the Thoracic (middle) looked at yet. Standing and bending over to work on a low bench or table can sometimes put me out of commission for 2-3 days. A workbench like this would help a lot.

Great Bench!! The flexispot E7Q is definitely the right one for this build. I tried the E7 standard Frame for a bench and noticed deflection and racking. Had the build out an aluminum extrusion frame under the top to keep it stable. Love all the mods on this and will definitely be modifying my design and adding things to mine.

Such a great idea for a light duty bench and wonderful cause too. The cantilever idea was a bad one considering its intended end user. The weight plates are an injury waiting to happen. Overall very wobbly too IMO.
@JackmanWorks Жыл бұрын
It’s only kinda wobbly when I put all my weight on it and I’m a giant. I’m curious how you see the weight plates causing an injury though? Luckily once the drawers are fully loaded, it should be a nonissue.

I'm just wondering. Was there a size requirement for the bench? As soon as I saw you making the base narrower, I anticipated issues. Why not just leave the base as it was, but put a wider top on it?

Hey, Paul. Sorry, this is a bit off topic from the video. Is that helmet you wear super adjustable? I.e., can you adjust it to a 4 y/it's child head? I know its random and off topic, but my son loves helping and oddly sanding. Blah blah you get the jist. Great vid as always too.

Why does "The Offcuts" sound like a band that would have you, Jason from Bourbon Moth, Frank Howarth, Jimmy Diresta, Wesley Treat, and maybe Drew from Fischer's shop? (Knowing Drew, he'd probably insist on nothing but woodwinds for instruments for the horrible pun. Possibly Wes, too.)
@More.Ziggurats Жыл бұрын
Really cool project, but I can't help but worry about whoever is going to use it. The main feature of a workbench (in my humble opinion) should be stability. This one seems to easy to tilt to be fair
@MAVIST0 Жыл бұрын
Idea: recessed automatic bench hooks: use "push to open -door opener" from the kitchen - Fit this with the round profile of the bench hook and insert it into the hole of the workbench - the holes must be closed at the bottom - the length of the round profile and door opener must be flush with the workbench surface. When you press the round profile into the workbench, the door opener will pushes the bench hook upwards - sorry bad english....google helps

Ugh.. The afterthought to make this a cantilever desk was painful. Especially modifying the out-of-the-box base instead of just making an oversized bench top.
@JackmanWorks Жыл бұрын
Not enough space for a larger workbench unfortunately, so that was the solution. Also, the bench vice wouldn’t have worked without the cantilever 🤷♂️
@williammaxwell1919 Жыл бұрын
If your building this cool workbench and saw station, consider not cutting down side legs, just don't make the drawers full depth; more stable (safer), no extra work (cutting legs down) and warranties not voided
@JackmanWorks Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the bench vice wouldn't have worked if I didn't modify the desk, but if you don't want a bench vice, just making the cabinet shallower it a great idea!
@MetalAsFork Жыл бұрын
Seems unfortunate to narrow the stance and reduce the overall stability. Would've been better to just make the desktop bigger, no?
@JackmanWorks Жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the space it’s going in is a small 1 car garage so there wasn’t enough room to make it wider

Not try to poo-poo on your really nice build, but I'm just asking why you didn't simply build a wider table top, instead of going through all that cutting and drilling(modifying) of the frame? That may have helped with the stability as well.
@JackmanWorks Жыл бұрын
No 💩 💩 at all 😁. One reason is because this is going in a small space and couldn’t be made any wider. The other reason is because it allowed me to install the vice on the corner.
