I so appreciate this video! I have an older NordicTrack that hasn’t worked right in years despite hours trying to get help from customer support, multiple $ repair calls, and several $ replacement parts. I have had it on partial blocks to try to get it to think it’s flat at 0 incline, it’s now inclined up and thinks it’s at -3, and in calibration mode, it’s not even moving. This is after additional replacement parts and repair calls.

Thanks for the review. I have the x22i and love it…never have had any significant issues. In fact, when it was originally delivered there was damage to some of the plastic, I did not accept it, and in less than a week they had sent another one…no added fees. I have had great experience with their customer service through texts, emails, and phone calls.

I'm sorry about your experience - that sucks. Thanks for sharing it, though. I was about to order a NT treadmill about 1 month ago, I found so many bad reviews from people who've ordered a NT treadmill during the pandemic and had a quality issue (treadmills breaking down) and bad experience trying to get it solved, that I decided to leave aside the idea of getting a treadmill right now. Reviews like yours probably saved me from walking into the same problem.

We had a similar situation. We have the same issues with support. Our LCD controller blew and I had to replace it. That resolved the issue of the LCD not working but then the incline never worked quite right. We would have to calibrate the incline over and over. Then the incline stopped working all together. Finally it no longer powers on. We have the extended warranty so they are sending new parts but again they have no idea because everything is back ordered. You are correct it is not only huge but so heavy. If I had to do it again I would research more and not by a Nordictrack. Nordictrack claims the issue with it dying is because we have bad power to the house and we don't have it plugged into a surge suppressor. Considering we live in a fairly new subdivision with very consistent power I find that hard to believe especially since I have much more sensitive equipment in the house which has never blown like this. Live and learn. Thanks for the video.

I bought an X22i Incline trainer, and so far I'm loving it. When it arrived, I moved it into the house, and down a flight of stairs by myself. It was a challenge, but got it done. I'm 6'2" and I weigh 250lbs, so maybe I was able to throw my weight at moving this treadmill a bit more:). Cleanup was not nearly as bad as the guy in this video is saying. Yes there was a large wooden pallet. Nothing that a reciprocating saw can't break down in a couple minutes. It took about 10 minutes to break down the pallet and packaging material, and have it out front of the house for waste management to pick it up. I haven't had the dreaded control board failure yet, but I'm prepared for if or when that happens. I have already researched businesses that specialize in fixing circuit board failures. I Feel pretty confident that I can have a control board failure fixed in no time if I need it. It looks like the guy in this video is an avid runner. The bouncing issue while running at high speed is unfortunate, but this treadmill really isn't designed for hardcore speed runners. This treadmill is designed to simulate steep trail running or mountain climbing. Since I have never seen anybody run at 9mph+ up a steep mountain, I would say that this treadmill does a great job for those who use it for incline training at lower speeds like the name of the treadmill suggests. I like hiking and walking, hence the reason I chose this specialized piece of equipment. If I was an avid runner, I never would have bought this particular treadmill. There are much better treadmills out there that are designed for aggressive running use. I guess my experience has been totally different with this nordictrack treadmill. Nothing but positive things to say about it. And given how this is almost a one of a kind design for those of us that love to walk on steep inclines, I'm willing to work through any problems that I may encounter down the road. It's totally worth in my opinion.

I bought the x22i in April of 2020 and my experience has been almost identical. Today I spent 2 hours on the phone to have them send me a new control panel for me to install. I’ve had service techs out twice to fix the loud rattling and neither time made it better. 3 service calls in 7 months, for a 3500.00 treadmill. I am regretting the purchase.

I ordered my X11i over the phone to make sure it was in stock. Sales guy assured me several machines in Georgia wharehouse and would ship in 2 to 3 days. I received it nearly 5 weeks and 10 to 15 phone calls later. They did advise me of the covid rules about not entering the house. I un boxed it outside my front door. I had to lean the mane track assy on its side to get it thru my doorway but with a little planning I was able to do it myself. I kept the packaging in my garage for a couple weeks to make sure the thing operated properly. After that it was just a matter of breaking it all down to reasonably sized pieces for bulk trash pick up. My machine has been operating perfectly for about 6 weeks now. A few bugs in the Ifit app but ifit has very good support chat and solutions were found. I am 67 years old and my max run speeds is 5 -6 mph so there is no way I will experience your problem. I bought this model for the extreme incline. Keeps my legs strong even at low speeds without beating the hell out of my geriatric joints. All that being said I would never ever deal with Nordic again. I just pray I don't have any problems with what I already have.

Thanks for your opinion. Some of us were lucky enough to purchase a good X11i. My treadmill works PERFECT and I have owned it for one year. Sorry to hear you have had a bad experience with your X11i. I was able to contact Nordictrack directly a few times about my free one year subscription and a couple tech questions I had. It took a 45 minute wait to speak with a tech and sales person but I did have the opportunity to leave my number and they would call me back. Which was nice. Everything went well and I would purchase again from Nordictrack. Just wanted to let everyone know that NOT EVERY Purchase is a bad experience. Nordictrack is a huge company. They want our business and in return they provide a good product I believe. Thanks for letting me post my opinion.

I have this machine. Im getting ready to take it down a flight of stairs in our home. I have had this machine for over 8 years. I had it delivered and set up in home. Within one week starting having problems. Customer service at least one hour on hold and if I was unlucky that day I was transferred then went through process of explaining what was going on. To make this story somewhat short. I have had it repaired a total of ten times. It has had a new motor, incline, mother board, etc. If I didn't have the extended warranty I would have been dragging it down the stairs probably three years ago. With the extended warranty you get to have an outside source do the work and you get to make all appointments. The last guy that worked on it a few years ago chipped a huge piece of sheetrock off the wall turning it on its side. I bought another treadmill about two years ago for downstairs because they told me at Ifit and at Nordic trac my wifi was not sending out a good signal so that's why I was not able to use ifit the majority of the time which means you are running it on manual. After EXTENSIVE conversations with comcast and testing signal in house learned, nope, its the treadmill. Then had many conversations and many tries at getting the software to allow me to use the ifit on this machine. Now fast forward. Ive been using the treadmill downstair(Costco Procor 1000.00 ho hum performance...but it works) I get a phone call from one of the techs from Nordic trac that I had been emailing back and forth with for over two years when this treadmill console would not work or when IFit would not work. This guy says to me just this last year I think Oct2023. He says We are offering you a discount ( a whopping 500.00 off lol)on a new treadmill to replace the one you have. He says we will even give you a year of free ifit. I say wow, sounds interesting but I worry about having the same problems with the new one. I tell him Im getting ready to try again with the ifit on the old one and he tells me,"it wont work". Why wont it work I say? He says this treadmill the x11i software or firmware has a glitch and no longer can use ifit. NO JOKE. I state that sounds like the grounds for a class action law suit. I paid 32ooo.oo for this machine. He says you can do what you want but I'm offering a discount and I just emailed it to you. When I got home I looked up what's going on with this treadmill. Then I went upstairs and attempted to turn it on so it could at least be used in manual mode and it was a no go. Screen tuns on but will not let you use the controls to make it go. There is an actual GROUP on FB in regards to the horror stories and extreme frustrations of Nordic Trac. I will never have one of their machines again. I hope the class action law suits they are facing put them out of business.

yup there are heavy its pro machine, but they have a wheeled function and i would suggest the deck springs or the incline drive is not attached correctly, mine doesn't do that and is pretty solid.

@@ChaseTheSummit it’s fine and has some nice basic features along with the scenic runs and instructor led content. It also works with Zwift. The speakers on the monitor aren’t great though…but if you use earbuds or a Bluetooth speaker, you’re fine.

I was about to buy NordicTrack X22i, but after watching your two videos about your issues, I don't think I need this headache. I can't imagine how much time you have wasted. In this day and age, refunding, exchange, or returns should be a piece of cake, like Amazon does it. From the sound of it, NordicTrack tries to do everything in their power NOT to take it back as well as to try to make extra few hundred bucks when you have issues, such as the $250 return fee plus 10% restocking fee (EVEN when it is clearly a manufacturer's defect. Great video! Thank you for the heads up. You saved us a lot of grief, time, and money. And if NordicTrack is watching this, they should fire their head of customer service and revamp their service policy because from all the comments I read below and in your first video, there must've been several dozen canceled orders because of your video. And now, well, I have to go find a different treadmill (and different manufacturer)...

I feel so heard 😫 My Nordictrack x22i broke after five months. It took two months to get a replacement console and they shipped it to the wrong address. I had to drive an hour to pick it up from the wrong delivery point. And now I’m a small female trying to install a console by myself. I’ve only gotten through on the phone once (hour wait). I’m super impressed that you and your wife could move it inside! I had to hire professional movers to get mine inside 🤦🏼‍♀️

Ugh... seems to be a common story unfortunately. We were lucky in that we only had to move it about 10 feet to its final resting place! I can't imagine having to go up stairs or something!

Thanks for the thoughtful video, Dave! I just started checking out this model after seeing it mentioned several times on the trail and ultrarunning FB group. I will keep looking since it sounds like this might just give me a huge headache. Is there a model you do recommend, or at least a brand worth considering that has great customer service? While I prefer running outdoors, training has been difficult and often impossible after multiple surgeries from a stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis. I love running through, and it's been one thing I've refused to give up while in treatment the past 3 years. I've managed to run the NYC Marathon and a 50k while in treatment, but it took a toll and being severely immunocompromised a treadmill is strongly encouraged by my oncologist. I don't know that I will ever give up trails completely, but I know I would be more active than I have been if I had a reliable treadmill at home. I am wanting something sturdy, and the incline feature appealed to me coming from a trail running background. I have never been a fast runner, even prior to my diagnosis - usually middle or closer to the back of pack in smaller races, so I don't think the vibration thing would apply to me...but I find it difficult to support a company that doesn't make customer service a top priority; I have too much on my plate already without adding unnecessary stress. I was between a Nordictrack and a Sole. Definitely going Sole now after this video. Sole reliability seems excellent compared to Nordictrack. It may not be as sleek and modern looking in appearance, but at least it extremely reliable and well made. Plus comes standard with a LIFETIME warranty, no additional charge. If you don’t want to pay a monthly sub, go Sole. Everyone I know that owns one, raves about them. I am sorry you went through all that bullshit with such a major purchase, but thank you for sharing your experiences it was truly helpful and absolutely was instrumental in solidifying my decision to purchase a Sole.

I previously had a really old Sole treadmill. That was a solid machine and they provided support well after the warranty expired. Unfortunately they don't sell a steep incline trainer. Good luck! Thanks for watching!

I wish I would have seen this video before I purchased mine! Like yours, the motor on mine will not work. I purchased mine on 5/11/2020. This has been an issue before, but I was able to do a factory reset before and that fixed my issue. Not this time though. The belt will not move, even after a reset. I contacted Nordic track and waited for an hour for customer service. I was told that it was cold almost $300 for a service tech to come out and diagnose the problem. My labor warranty expired in May 2021. I still have a parts warranty, but this machine is obviously a faulty machine. This is not the first review that mentioned the motor not working. Now I'm stuck with a paperweight!

I also have the same model of treadmill. I've had the same issues with the machine as you have, here is what I did. First I bought this treadmill mainly for the incline and yes I've taken it up to 40 many times, I also have that vibration, and mine was so bad that I would start and finish in different locations, the treadmill lower end would shift in the process of my run from the vibration and when I was done I was facing at an angle. I had the incline motor go out along with the "chip" board? So this is how it was resolved, First the vibration, I had this in the garage with a concrete floor, I tried the mats but those didn't work, what did work was some equipment pads I bought from Amazon, just six little padded squares, they absorbed the shock and the treadmill hasn't moved at all, it also has reduced the up and down vibration you mentioned, when I put it "calibration" mode and it cycles through that reduces the vibration even more. Also, one other thing I have noticed works and you can call me "weak" for this but I will lower the decline to negative 1, believe me I only leave it there for about a minute or two, also helps me catch my breath and just like I go up in incline I can go do in incline as well. As for the parts, I've never had an issue with getting my parts within a month and they have sent over a tech to replace the parts so that isn't an issue. Now would I recommend this model, I WOULD NOT but not so much for the issues above, BTW I've had my treadmill for over 2 years. I wouldn't recommend this model simply because it's a beast, it doesn't fold, had I done my research better I would have gone with a folding model, this is a commercial-grade treadmill built to take punishment. Finally, I wouldn't recommend this model to someone who is on a budget, but for everything this model offers, the incline, the IFIT, Bluetooth/ANT, and the size of it I think it's worth the price, but that's me. I think any commercial-grade top of the line brand is going to come at a cost. So I understand your frustration because we always want things to work as they should, I like mine and once I get another year or two out of it I'll replace it but it'll again be for a commercial-grade brand/model. I think I watched one of your videos, and looked into Peleton as well, and theirs cost twice as much and very problematic if you read customer blogs. I went with Assault Runner. No motor issues whatsoever, since there is none. I highly recommend them.

I bought the top of the line model (4K) and my belt just stopped dead after four months of use. Same issue. I am waiting fo a new part that they said would take three weeks which I am guessing will not happen based on what you described. So upsetting. Mine didn’t vibrate and worked beautifully until it didn’t. I should have known when the customer service dropped the treadmill at the door. Over 300lb machine we had to get up the stairs. I should have had more of a white glove treatment for that price. I wish I bought the Peloton like I originally planned.

We have the same one with the same issue and just recently received the board replacement. Everything he said about the customer service is true the wait time is ridiculous. While the vibration issue also happens on slow speeds (3-5) while inclined. I would also suggest to avoid this treadmill.

I have the s22i bike, great bit of kit with no issues. Was delivered and installed for me on the correct date during normal life...surely with what we are experiencing you have to give Nordic track a break and understand the problems every industry is having, I’m sure those customer service operators are working from home with limited equipment. I am currently awaiting delivery of a bed I ordered in sept with no expected delivery date as the company are struggling to source whatever part for the bed. I’m sure in the current climate every company is struggling to delivery/uplift their products, however I’m impressed they sent you out a brand new treadmill. Maybe the x11 has issues but not sure your other points are relevant in this current climate.

I'd be totally fine with extended waits or delivery delays. I guess my main issue with the company was the lack of communication. No one told me I'd be waiting over a year for a replacement part to get my 2 month old treadmill working again. And the replacement process was really confusing. If someone just spelled it out to me it would have been a different story! Glad your experience was better than mine! Be well.

I got mine in February 2020 when they went on sale and before the COVID lockdowns. I paid $2,400, which included tax and shipping for the X22i, and I don't have that issue at all. I am 260 lbs, and I use mine every day. I have over 300 hours on the unit and only had to contact Nordic track once. It seems that after the lockdowns went into effect, these units were cranked out by Nordic Track. I feel lucky I don't have these issues! I heard they have upgraded the monitor and motor for the ones built in November 2020. I just got off mine a few minutes ago. When they locked us down, all home workout units were hard to get. I waited a month to get a Total Gym! I am more than happy with my purchase, especially the price. I have a friend who paid 3k for the X11i, and they just dropped it right in front of the house. I assembled mine and had to throw away all that packaging. It wasn't an issue for me. When I was searching for a Treadmill on youtube, the Nordic track had great reviews. Then the massive influx of orders and production hit them, and I am sure the quality declined.

The high speed rumble is still an issue to this day. I've given up on support from Nordictrack and just accepted that the machine doesn't work above 9MPH. Now that it's spring/summer I complain less because I'm running outside more 🤷‍♂️
