Maybe it just on Rams, but I have had 2 Retrax polycarbonate covers that leaked to no end. Not drips, but actually pooling water in many areas. One was in 2016 and then foolishly I gave it another try with my current 2022. Both were professionally installed yet they leaked like crazy, not to mention the top warped both times. Because it was warranted and I was already into it for over $1500, I tried the aluminum up grade but had the same issues. I finally got it to stop leaking after using silicone, larger seals and a few other mods. Way too much time trying and money trying to get it to work the way it was intended.

I just installed the Pace Edward’s switchblade due to it being the best priced retractable bed cover. I am going to have to put some effort into improving water resistances but I have no regrets about the cover I went with for my truck. For in town driving you can wrap the strap around a rear cleat and hold the cover in the halfway position, though this isn’t an intended feature.

The Retrax on my 2020 F250 that came from Ford as a accessory is by far the best one I have had.

Retrax is good but has flaws in locking system that needs an update. I have had Retrax & pace Edward's. Pace Edward's jack rabbit sealed the best but if gets dusty is hard to open & close. Retrax leaks water between slats

This video is totally false and misleading. I own a Syneticusa and a Retrax, the Syneticusa cost me 1200. and has NEVER leaked a drop. The Retrax cost me 2200. and its never NOT leaked. Retrax advertises " lifetime warranty " on the model I bought but just never backs it up. They'll tell you they're " water resistant " , it'll literally flood the bed.
