One of the best review videos I've seen. Lots of good information and very to the point but still entertaining enough to hold my attention. Well done, my man!

I am having the cover installed on my tremor tomorrow. Your review makes me happy with my choice. Looks like this will meet my needs very well. Thanks for taking the time to share your review.

Thanks, I've been doing my research for a purchase in the next couple weeks and landed on the Pace Edwards - electric - tailgate model. Thanks for your input, the discussion about the manual opening solidified my decision to go electric. And your added protection for the storage box at the front of the bed will be something I also do. Great video.

Right on. Take a look at my other video as well. I installed a Retrax on my parents truck. It has some nice features to compare against as well.

A little late to the party here but your vid rocks! You have an excellent delivery, content here is exactly what I needed & you might have saved me some bucks as this Leer look comparable to the Retrax but at a kinder price point. Thank you!

Great review. The degrading of the end cap rubber is worrisom. I'm torn with this lowest profile with the tslots or the Roll & lock with the bed devider, but bulky square look.
@DrivingForwardBuilds2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The RollnLock with the bed divider is pretty cool. I use expanding telescopic supports as my bed dividers because they can be removed in about 10 seconds and just as easily placed in any location, or used to hold up drywall (their original purpose for me 🙂). The trim pieces degrading so far has just been cosmetic.

I too am in the Valley of the Sun (AJ). I have used Protectant 303 for decades on any vinyl or rubber type products that will be out in the sun, including my many m/c's, and it helps to prevent deterioration caused by UV & ozone.
@DrivingForwardBuilds Жыл бұрын
@@AzEagleEye That's a great tip. I have some 303 that I use on my outdoor furniture and hot tub cover. It only makes sense that it would work on the rubber for the truck. Thanks!

Hey I’m looking for a hard bed cover but first choice wasn’t a retractable model. I’m not going to haul anything on top but want the cover to have some rigidity support. I also want full bed access. Did you make a purchase if so which brand model did you get. Thank you I’m still looking.
@aggieslaughter063 ай бұрын
Man, I want that bully bar for the box. I’m adding a retrax and want one for that! How much!?? 5:09 - 5:26. I would make it mount to the flange plate there for the rear tie-down space since those are already reinforced!!!
@DrivingForwardBuilds3 ай бұрын
It wasn't too tough to build. I used the tie-down points on the forward wall and added two addition rivnuts to each side for support. It really could have used some side bracing if you wanted vertical load support, but it was always sufficient to protect the cover and tie down bikes and motorcycles too.
@aggieslaughter063 ай бұрын
@@DrivingForwardBuildsso… does that mean you’ll build me one?? Hahaha seriously, I really do like that bar but I would attach it to where the side tie down cleats are already there since I think the retrax canister is a little bigger.
@DrivingForwardBuilds3 ай бұрын
@@aggieslaughter06 I originally thought about attaching it to the side cleats but was stumped on how to get the bars in there without some sort of center (expansion) adjustment. The cleats are the widest part of the bed. Are you local, ie Phoenix?

I just had a hard plastic one installed on my truck, and while im driving down the highway, it ripples . Do you have the same problem with the aluminum cover?
@DrivingForwardBuilds25 күн бұрын
This cover doesn't move at all. Holds really tight and stays in place.

Could this cover be modified to lock with a mt bike tailgate pad? (These pads can be a little bulky) Possibly cut 1/4 inch off of the rails that attach to the canister???
@DrivingForwardBuilds Жыл бұрын
I’m not really sure. Being that the latch isn’t accessible with the tailgate closed I haven’t really worried about it. If I have it in one of the open positions it would defeat the purpose to have it locked, at least for me.

“I live in phoenix, dusty dirty”…. Dude I was just in phoenix… it is not dusty and dirty there, y’all don’t even have wind or rain. lol
@DrivingForwardBuilds9 ай бұрын
The lack of rain is the problem. There is sand everywhere. It's so fine it gets moved around very easily. We do have a decent amount of wind movement being so flat. Where I live in the west valley a car wash lasts about 20 minutes most times of the year.

I have a 2014 Silverado that already had this cover and at the present time the edges of the cover have come free of the hard slats underneath and it now when its hot it buckles and comes completely out of the side rails. Looked up replacement of just cover and am not coffing up $600 for new because of poor construction.
@DrivingForwardBuilds Жыл бұрын
Dang thats a bummer. So far the only issue I've encountered is the rubber strips at the end breaking down. Here in the hot Arizona sun rubber can dry out quick. Hopefully mine stays together and good luck with determining a replacement.
