@MotionBerlinRАй бұрын
@@cbotten106 Range is no problem, because it’s charging so fast and you need the same time for >600miles like a Model Y LR. In normal everyday life, you charge at home anyway and don't drive over 200 miles, at least I don't know anyone who does that The problem seems the bad charging infrastructure in the US, other than Tesla. In Europe we have so many 350kW chargers, so we don’t have to use the Tesla netwerk. I think that's a shame because I really love the States and it seems like Tesla has a huge competitive advantage just because of the charging infrastructure and not because they build particularly great cars. I hope there will be more independent charging providers so that you can choose the car that suits you best. Maybe I'm wrong in my assessment, but it looks that way from the outside.

There's always a premium to pay with performance. If you add luxury with the same level of performance, you're looking at vehicles that start near $100K. The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will give you a tad bit less performance, but will cost $100K. If you look at the Lucid Air Grand Touring, it also gives you a little more luxury, and more performance, but rings in at over $110K. Performance is the Ionic 5N's target, and it's hit the mark rather well. The other items can be forgiven for those that strictly care about performance. The Audi RS3, btw, slower 0-60 times, similar price, but also has manual seats. And as for the Tesla, regardless of what you think about Elon's policies, their products are always being ridiculed for their lack of quality. I doubt I would trust a Tesla with my family.

I don't think many of the reasons are great reasons, but the range is a pretty good reason. You really have to be a huge Hyundai fanboy to want this car over the competition. Model 3 performance is a little quicker with a lot better range for $15k less. i4 M50 is almost as quick, but has more range and is way more luxurious for the price point. The Lucid Air Touring is a little slower, but gets 2x the range and has a really luxurious interior for $8k more. The Model S LR is also the same MSRP but qualifies for new EV tax credit in the US (whereas the Hyundai does not), and has 2x the range with close to the same 0-60 time with a much nicer interior. That being said, if you want a fun EV hot hatch, nothing beats the Ioniq 5N. But for $65k, it's hard to justify that price for a 4 door EV hatchback that's best suited on a race track, and sucks to live with in the real world as a daily driver.
