This is more of a reboot than a rebuild. The cups have specifications for them. When they get loose they click and make noises, bind etc. the specs are in the factory manual if you ever wanna check it out. Yours were probably fine but it’s just one extra step to make sure it’s factory new. 👌🏻 I just bought raxles. They’re every bit as good as factory. Came with the balancers and everything all with lifetime warranty. Worst thing was kinda pricey without core. Like 850 shipped from Florida to ca.
@bugzycapone Жыл бұрын
$850 is way too much. You can get OEM from Honda for $550 a side - unless you got both sides for $850, then that's a great deal.

I bought Raxles as well and they are great, as good as OEM. I had to sent them back to rebuild once. Now they need to be rebuilt again but they won’t honor the lifetime warranty and will charge me to rebuild this time.
@chriswebb5821 Жыл бұрын
@@rolandchang7450 how often are you’re building them because normally axles last 150k+ miles. If you’re drag racing them, I’d consider it polite he even rebuilt them once. Doubtful you’re dailying them having them rebuilt that frequent. For performance probably better using dss or something.

@@chriswebb5821 No drag racing (not my thing and not with this car, stock B16A2 w/ intake), and no autox nor track driving either, just street and highway driving 13-15k miles a year. I do appreciate Raxles rebuilding them free of charge the first time (after 65k miles, clicking) like I would expect from anyone offering a lifetime warranty should, leading me to believe they would do the same a second time. It is now vibrating and one boot split in half, grease splattered everywhere after 70k miles. Their reason for not doing it for free again: I bought them when they were half the price back in 2013 but now they cost twice as much and the cost of parts went up as well, post-covid). In my opinion, the company should still honor it for as long as I own my car, I shouldn’t need to be concerned their cost for parts. They ought to be making enough from everyone else who doesn’t exercise the warranty to be able to cover mine for free. Just posting my experience so no one mistakens their (limited) lifetime warranty as no need to spend any money on axles ever again. They are great when they work right though.

Do they sell the 3 tripod bearings in a set

94 Accord EX manual trans axles no longer available from Honda Dealers. Only the inner joint. And remans are actually genuine Honda axles cores, with OEM parts replaced if needed, or reground with larger bearings... Same price as new cheap ones, but OEM. Junkyard roll the dice, and priced same as reman.. So why do the work. Remans are fine for daily drivers, and completed.
@c2specmotoring Жыл бұрын
Correct-ish, the remans I’ve gotten from 3 of the local part stores were Remanufactured with the newer joints and unfortunately not the OEM joints. I don’t know if Accords or Preludes have the non sealing issue like Civics and Integras.
@DELREYGUY Жыл бұрын
I bought a set of Driveshaft Shop "Level 0 axles" in 2018 (400HP rating). I returned 1st set for a 2nd in 2018, the inner joint still failed in less than 6 months (on both new sets of axles). All stock VTEC motor! Several calls to DSS and emails, they say they changed the design since 2018 and can't sell me replacement parts for the inner CV joints to fix my set? WTF ? A custom shop that can't fix their own shafts. Instead, they tried to upsell me a new set $650 with a discount, which has doubled in price. LOL Called the Honda pros at Hasport directly. They said just use OEM old axles or cores (the way to go). At least with a Reman, you get the OEM core back. Can always get a new genuine Honda inner joint later, after the remans go out. Dealers actually use remans from Cardone on older Hondas, since no longer available from Honda. They just swap out the box and bump the price! LOL I lost my original cores long ago, before Honda discontinued selling axles for my 1994 Accord. I bought the car in 1997 with 39K on the OD. Agree! Don't buy new China axles or overpriced aftermarket new ones. KZbin is full of paid "influencers", to sell so-called performance $$$$ axles. Classic Honda guys just get screwed. @@c2specmotoring
