Been playing with 3 and 4 hybrids for last couple if years, just switched out my 5 wood for an Apex UW, simply cause I'm so much more consistent with my hybrids.

Lot to be said for hybrids.... I replaced my 3 & 5 woods with 17 & 21 deg hybrids and never looked back... they give me a lot of confidence and I find them so easy to hit 🌟🎊🥳🤩

I’m a big believer in playing clubs we have a greater success rate with, less bad shots makes better scores 👌🏼

I think if you can find a low-ish loft hybrid you get on with it can transform you game keeping it in play. Probably too many people think they don’t go far enough but on the fairway 220 is never bad!

I concluded a few years back that my 3 wood was too inconsistent and took it out the bag. My hybrid doesn’t go the distance but it’s straighter and less Duffy.

I find mix and match hybrid and fairway wood works. Hybrids are often too draw biased, so off the tee can go a touch left, 3 or 5 wood off the tee is straighter for me. Hybrids are great out of the semi, so help, but intro par 5’s my 3 wood has a more penetrating flight than my 17 degree hybrid.

I replaced my 5 wood a few years ago with a 3 hybrid 19°!! I think is was the right move at my first range session last week I was striping it!! I think if it doesn't feel right than get rid of it same as my 3iron. Now I have 3 wedges which up until then I never had. Great video!!🏌‍♀⛳

Great video. Too end of the bag has been an area where I’ve really tried to fine tune. Started off with 3 wood and 5 wood. Swapped both out for a 4 wood instead. I then have a 3 iron and also a hybrid that carry a similar distance but with a totally different flight. Seems to work but hybrid so soo much easier to hit than the 3 iron!

@@garymartingolf I think most mid handicap golfers would be better off with a 5 wood over a 3 wood. I found mine carried pretty much the same distance! Not loads of 4 woods about but there are plenty of adjustable 3 and 5 woods you can loft up or down. Like most things in golf personal preference is massive. I preferred lofting up the 3 wood as I liked the slightly larger head size.

Get a max cobra 5 wood and loft down a degree and you will still have the slightly larger head size but a bit more loft than the lofted up 3w.

@garymartingolf I have ping g430s. 18 degree 5 wood lofted in f- setting so playing 16.5 with 3 wood shafr and a 21 degree 7 wood. 5 wood is driver back up and 7 wood Is used for both. Tried to get on with hybrids, but always ended up using 4 iron as tee shot back up to driver.

This is the quandary I am having, I'm going G to get a new top end of my set this spring, I have 5i, so everything from there, currently I have 4hybrid 5wd 3wd driver, so there's plenty of wiggle room, but not sure what will be best.??

Sounds like you need find your preference between fairways to hybrids. Which are you most comfortable with off the tee and deck.
