I really like Mike as a tester as his swing speed represents most general public. In particular he has very neutral swing that really differentiates the characteristic of club head and shaft designs.

Just wanted to say thanks. Your channel is the absolute best there is for in depth, detailed, technical, comprehensive yet understandable club analysis and advice. I’m just re-doing my bag this year, and got fitted down here in the US by well respected fitters (Titleist’s regional guy in Westchester, NY for irons and wedges, and a guy in Morristown, NJ for woods - who also confirmed my iron fitting), and your videos have been an instrumental part of my process. Curious as to why the low spin versions of the LTDx and Rogue ST were not used, but the Stealth Ti was. It seems that those two would have been a better comparison to the Stealth Ti.

Would be interesting to see the Stealth lofted up a bit more, to get the spin to better match the other offerings. Either a 15* lofted up or 5-wood lofted down to 16* or 16.5* could get very similar spin and distance compared to the other woods at 15*.

Watched this video last night and had a full bag fitting today at Club Champion. Tried 4-5 different 3 Woods and all very similar, then we tried the Stealth and omg 😳😳. 25 yards longer than everything else along with better dispersion.

Ian, Would love to see Mikey test Callaway’s flagship woods like the Rogue ST driver & fairway woods. Then test the draw bias woods as well. This would be a great benefit to us regular golfers. You can even bring in Ronny for the seniors who need more data on what club might work for them. Then another show comparing them to Cobra & TMs, etc. flagship woods. Most of us are not elite players and are the larger part of your viewing audience. Just saying. Great content for mid to low handicap fairway woods.

I agree too! All subjective though isn't it. I'm surprised that better players wouldn't be jumping all over that to get the club loft and face angle exactly where they want it.

Just be mindful Cobra's adapter isn't as good as the likes of Titleist, Taylormade. Not as flexible in terms of adjustments

Having hit the SIM and SIM 2 TI for the past few years in the 5w turned down to 17, its as long as any 3 wood Ive ever hit. But if I start hitting the toe it'll go miles left on me. But I put up with it because it is a WEAPON when Im swinging it well. When im not I hit the G425 7 wood haha.

Hopefully they can find a new mix that works as well but it's kind of the unfortunate nature when a big company takes over a smaller one there always ends up being some casualties.

I use the sim 2 max HL 3W with the Diamana Thump shaft. The HL puts it up to 16.5 and it might be my favorite club in the bag. I use it off the tee, and as a second shot if it's real long and in the fairway. Highly recommend. It can be a great alternative if you aren't feeling your driver on a certain day and need to find the fairway!

I’m not a fitter but I’d certainly be in the camp where Stealth does not work for my game. 2600 spin and 23 yards of roll is a driver or off-tee only club. If that were my 3-wood, unless green is pretty elevated and had wide opening at front, my only option using that club on long approach would be to aim for a bunker. If I cannot consistently see 3000-3200 spin and max 10 yds roll, it’s not an approach club. For me the C722 set to 15.75/57.5 w/Speeder NX 70X has been the best 3-wood since my Orlimar persimmon 40 years ago. I did not try the Stealth as my club builder did not have a demo 3-wood but I tried the Ping, Rogue, STZ and TSi3. The TSi3 was the only club as consistent in spin and dispersion as the C722. Unfortunately Titleist does not offer Speeder NX in its matrix and my builder cannot order as head-only like he could with C722. I would recommend Mikey given the C722 a try. 👍

If the Dynamic Loft on the TSi2 is 3 degrees higher than the Stealth, why not try the TSi2 13.5 and its adjustments?

Because there's no free lunch. Lower static loft would mean lower launch angle and possibly higher difficulty to hit off the deck. The only club that seems to disassociate launch and spin was TM.

Great video. The Titleist shown closeup was an 18* 5wood and the TM looked to have the loft sleeve changed. Was this for video reference only or were the clubs tested in that configuration?

Correct me if I'm wrong, where each club using Mikey's gamer shaft? That aside, it would have been nice to have Mikey hit his gamer at the very end to see if there was any change in his swing performance. It is also worth nothing that Mikey had built his 3W to be a higher lunching wood, hence the higher spin which will reduce distance. All that said, you all hit the nail on the head: "what are you trying to address with your 3W? In closing, the 3W is the hardest club for fitting.

Just bought a Rogue ST LS 15* and will put it up against my Sim2 Ti. TM has Ventus Blue 7X and the Callaway will have Ventus Red 7X. Should be a good test.

I had to switch to open my 3 wood up to 13.5 to lower spin. Now it is great and lands like a butterfly from 282. I only swing driver at 119. 3 wood at 115 avg.

For the last two seasons, my "3-wood" has actually been a 16.5* Titleist TS2 that I also have set to 15.75* loft. However, in the last few months, I have acquired both a 16.5* Tour Edge Exotics 721 Pro 16.5* 4-wood and a Sub 70 16.5* 4-wood (all three of these clubs are between 42.25" and 42.5" in length). I find that the higher loft and slightly shorter shaft length on these clubs helps me in a few different ways -- better accuracy and great ball flight being among them. My clubhead speed is about 4 to 5 MPH slower than Mike's with a fairway wood (I'm in the 93-94 MPH range), and I will NEVER go back to the 13.5* to 15* 3-woods that I gamed for many years.

Just did a fitting to remove my hybrids I can't hit. I crush my generations old 5 wood so gapped in a 3 and 7 wood. Ended up with a Stealth for the 3 wood. The low spin and consistent distance even on a mishit was just a slam dunk for me. It wasn't a fair fight like you said.

I bought a new 3 wood with a 1/2” shorter shaft for more consistency. Shafts are getting too long! First round I noticed better contact and gained distance! Now when big5 starts fitting golf clubs I can get fitted!

Why do you need low spin in a 3 wood? It is a fairway finder from the tee and second shot option for long par 4/5s.

Mike's results were best with stealth+ but I have read that the stock made for TaylorMade smoke red rdx shaft is not comparable to true aftermarket shafts. Was Mike using the "made for" shaft? If so was it a stiff or x flex? Did he find it "loose"? Thank you, Joe

How less forgiving is the plus vs the stealth? I am looking or a 13 degree or 13.5 rocket. Dont' want to turn up 15 because it opens the face which I naturally fade it to begin with? Does anyone except TM carry a 13 rocket?

The spin numbers say change the shaft to get distance more aligned with the Stealth. 1k difference in spin is more than significant. As an aside, I owned the Mizuno 3 and 5 was for a year. I do not like BIG headed fairways or the feel of this one. Same with Sim Ti (Stealth-like) - too BIG, too deep.

I hit a fly z 3 wood set at 13.5*. I can hit both low to get under tree limbs but it starts to rise at a bout 75 yds. I can move ball in stance and get nice high launch as well. Both of these are off the fairway. I can carry 225 of ground. Off the tee with the ball about 1/8th inch above the ground I hit a high ball about 245-250 with a 15 yd fade. My swing speed is 90ish. Does this sound like decent numbers?

I have a hi launch Ping G2 2 iron. I'm able to get great launch, at times it goes just as far as my 3 wood, which I struggle to get up. My Question is, when my 2 iron is going about 195. What's the benefit of a 5 wood?

Couldn't Mike have put his TSi2 16.5 in the B1 setting to still have the flat lie and have a true 16.5 (1* mrore than C1 setting) loft to launch higher like the Stealth? Wouldn't this have put the TSi2 on equal footing with the Stealth and produced the same distance numbers? Cant remember the spin differences, so not sure if this is possible....
