It's kinda sad that the 8.3 only got Android 12 as the last update. It is a "flagship" phone because of how fast it is so it should have gotten at least 3 or 4 years of android updates and 5 years of security updates.

Great review! The price should probably go down soon in Africa too. It was 599 euros here in Finland for too long. Now it's 399 e (64gb) and 449 euros (128 gb version). OZO audio and cinema mode is the best beats Sony hands down.

Hello Eric, I got the Redmi note 9s, but I am not really enjoying the experience, dark mode seem to not be working properly with most of the apps, it even affects pictures I design with white backgrounds, I forgot to mention the camera, it has a hard time focusing and the camera quality is poor, even using gcam. So I'm considering selling it and buying an iphone 8 plus/ iphone x . What do you advise?

Android $200 midrange phones will never win in a competition with $300 iPhones. You can install on GCAM on the Redmi Note 9S camera and see if you like the feel of that in the mean time. Link is on my pinned comment.

Excellent advice! There are a few great deals for the 8.3 right now, but I'm concerned that if I buy it I'll get stuck with phone that is past it's prime. So at this point, if let's say anybody is wanting to upgrade from the 7.1...is it still better to wait for later on in the year when potentially the 7.3/7.4 or the 8.4 may be announced released? What do you think of the Nokia X20 as an upgrade for the Nokia 7.1?

They fixed the face id with android 12 and the fingerprint unlock is too fast but has an issue the flex that connects the down board detaches even without falling

Love that jab you threw at Samsung there... LOL! Been using the Nokia 7 Plus for 2.5 years now, and looking to upgrade soon. Looked at this one as a suitable prospect, but you're absolutely right about the price; the Google Pixel 4A 5G, which has an OLED screen, and has the very same chipset is still much cheaper than this! 🤣 I also love the default camera/GCAM comparison, and, there's something about that app that I just find hard to leave.. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 7:37. I honestly feel the price isn't worth it. The chin is too massive for me. I think the Samsung A71 is still one of the best midrangers especially with the reduction in price. The only down side is the not so great camera except you use GCAM 😉.

@@sahkhareflexy1449 there's Poco F3 that retails for less. I don't see a reason to pay that high for the Nokia 8.3 5G. Gcam is supplementary, not a replacement for high end cameras especially coz gcam crashes occasionally.
