I’m pleasantly surprised how many PS3 games run and look great on the Deck. It’s surpassed all my expectations. I’m ok with the AAA games not working. For the most part, I’ve played those games already. But to go back and revisit some lesser known PS3 titles on the Deck has been fantastic.

Few months ago... the RPCS3 devs didn't have a Steamdeck to test out what is needed to get PS3 emulation running better than what's shown in the video above that are a bit out of date. Not saying the device can do miracles in getting it to run PS3 games decently, the hardware may not allow it for many of the games. But... I don't disagree with what you're trying to say, It's true The purpose of this video was to inform people who want to buy Steam Deck only for playing very hardware demanding games like gow,tlos, uncharted , infamous and ect... I already said it in the video that Steam Deck Can run most playable games, But as far as the AAA games like what i've just mentioned, It's got a long road ahead of itself

The problem is deck is capped at 15w tdp, and to run skate 3 at 60fps you need 28w tdp, that's why 6800u handheld pcs run ps3 games better than the deck.

RPCS3 allowed me to at least play MGS HD collection with minor hiccups.

You need to use the CipherXOF RPCS3 build to run MGS 4 (damn-near) flawlessly I've ready seen MGS 4 on Steam Deck played above 60fps which is amazing

First of all This video is clearly not about mgs4, It's about other RPCS3 AAA games that need a powerful (more than 6. Core) CPU to run at a decent frame rate [MGS4 is out of equation cause of the custom build] , secondly I never said anything about MGS4 running slow, as mentioned in the video, this game just lead me to realize some people love to see ps3 AAA exclusives running on their steam deck at a good fps but unfortunately its not going to happen that soon

Infamous is pretty difficult to run on a 8C 16t CPU

you can get up to 40 fps with a decent hardware on pc Unlike steam deck which gives you about 10fps

or you can you know, lower graphics settings. its why they're there. god of war is 100% playable and locked at 40hz runs very smooth. terrible video
