This is the quick release I have: amzn.to/2tMGLSE I still use these for smaller cameras and audio recorders, they are a small plastic plate which slides into a shoe with a catch. The catch has a single sprung button release on the front of the shoe to release the plate. Nice and simple, light weight quick release, I am still a fan of this system, despite the problems I have had with the other products.

@chrisguess7 жыл бұрын
That's interesting, I'm not sure what the point of that would be? In any case the joints on mine actually have hairline cracks so I don't think that can be by design. Detachable legs are not listed anywhere I can see on their site but it does say: "Secure firm joints after years of shooting". Not sure at this point what to recommend you get, when they are in fully working order they are great, just not as durable as they suggest. Good luck, maybe check out some of the other suggestions in the comments.

Hey dude not trying to hate, but it's a tripod that can bend legs. Of course at some point it's going to pop off. Resently they fixed this problem. But about a year or two it's going to break. Just letting you know
@chrisguess7 жыл бұрын
+RandomCheetah I take your point, although I don't think the DSLR tripod had been used enough at that point for fatigue to be a factor, it was under a year old and the camera was under the max weight. The suction cup however reached total failure on its second use, neither time was it on the outside of a moving vehicle or similar. The price point makes them non disposeable, but I'm realistic they won't last forever I just expect more from them, otherwise I might as well but the cheap knock and expect it to fail after a few months. I appreciate your point of view.

@elim42276 жыл бұрын
The legs would not come off if you didn't pull them off like you did in this video. When there is a camera on the tripod there is weight pushing down on the legs not pulling them off like you did. I think you should just invest in a more expensive one and it would last for a long time as I did. I have the 5k model and I got it for free with my Manfrotto be free tripod from B&H and it works great. I do still prefer a normal tripod or a clamp instead of the Gorillapod because they can be unpredictable because they are held together with friction, not any locking mechanism.
@chrisguess6 жыл бұрын
I only pulled the legs off in the video after the was broken, as stated in the video there are cracks in the plastic after normal use. I don't believe the 5k ones were available when I purchased mine and in any case the one I had was the appropriate load exetra for my camera, so should have worked fine. The issue has happened to two different models so is a fault with the lower priced products. I too prefer a proper tripod, I also have the be free live, I just expect the product to do what it says it should that's all.
