The lack of friends shocks me - lived 3 miles away from Charlie before I went to uni, he was in the year above me and went to the "other" school in the town. My view of Charlie growing up was he was the person I wanted to be friends with but I sadly wasn't "cool" enough to be in with Charlies crowd I guess the truth may well be that Charlie felt forced to be friends with the idiot "i'm better than you" kind of people and whilst to me it looked like he was the popular guy with all the friends he was instead quite lonely. We "acted"/sang together in a local amateur dramatics thing (some church thing - not that I'm a church goer but they put on the best pantomimes in the area) Charlie was Fagan and I was the Artful dodger for a song. So glad he has found the success and happiness he deserves - would love to meet up with him again but whilst I remember him there is little chance he remembers me
