It certainly helps! Applying for Social Security Disability is a long and frustrating ordeal, and people get upset, but taking that out on the people doing your Consultative Examination won't increase your chances of being approved.

Hi, I just had the physical assessment in November 2022 and had a very different experience then what you & SSDI Prep people to expect. After watching dozens of videos posted by SSDI Physicians, SSDI attorneys, & applicants, plus My own recent experience, these Exams are less then credible in determining a person's true limitations & abilities for employment. And even when provided with medical records, tests, MRIs, etc, which provide clear evidence of a person's condition, .it's NEVER enough, there is ALWAYS a reason to initially be denied,. 😐

If you feel you are truly disabled, don't give up because your claim was denied - file an appeal as soon as possible, but know that most written appeals are denied. If your appeal is denied, ask to go to court, because there is a fairly high approval rate if you go to court. Also consider engaging an attorney who specializes in Social Security Disability.

If you don't have an attorney representing you, I'd recommend doing so and applying again. The cost scales to any back pay you get, but in my experience, the system takes you more seriously. Just my opinion though, but I had gotten nowhere before I had one.

@@Christinesobsevations- You received a simple examination because frankly the government doesn’t want to pay you for not working even though you paid into this system. I’m disabled and I can’t work anymore and have been trying to get SSDI since 2021. They would owe me back pay of almost $100,000! It’s very frustrating! I wish you luck!

I have MS and I recently started taking notes of every symptom that I experience on a regular basis, I believe that will help when I see my neurologist or primary doctor because I can't remember everything off the top of my head during my 15 minute visit in the doctors office. I haven't applied for SSDI yet.

@@DisabilityExams Why should you have to go through so much to get approved when there are countless amounts of people who have been declared and approved disabled when they are clearly not. Some are working under the table and doing all types of physical work that they shouldn't be doing if they were truly disabled. Then you have others who are really disabled but wait years to be approved, some even dying in the process of trying to get approved. Clearly the system is flowed and needs to be revised.

IM IN my 50's , was right hand dominant. 28 years ago I had a tramatic accident at work resulting in me ripping my right off that got crushed in a large meat grinder. Now it has been getting harder and harder to do everything without lots of pain, and injury at times with basic daily chores, errands and anythig that requires use of hands. Some days my fi ngers on my one hand cant grip the doorknobs tight enough to open the door. Or hold a spoon or a toothbrush. Very painful trying to hold money or change. Difficult to hold a gallon of milk without dropping it because of pain in fingers. Everyday things are more painful to get done. I noticed overwhelming fear in certain dangerous driving conditions has increased 10 times since my husband passed away 4 years ago. Ive applied and applied over last 20 years just to be denied because of no medical documents to back up my challenges and sufferings with pain and mow PTS. Help.

Just questioning the qualifications of my denies for disability. What am I not saying or saying that considers me to not have any disability? May be not 100 % disability. But a certain percent of disability is obvious and shocking to get complete denial of a disability. What else do I need to do or say. SS Basically wants you completely dependent on them so they can control you easier I think. It's so messed up. Not really to help you but make it easy to control and take everything you worked your whole life to get so totally dependent on the basic needs in life that they supply if it's determined that ya it is painful to work any job requiring use of hands. Why don't they try harder in finding me a pain free job then. I'm in the country with closest town 9 miles away population 1,200. They don't consider any of that as huge challenge to start with. Love to see any of those people walk in my shoes 1 day. . And be happy and able to survive and support yourself without help. Only denials . Just not right how easy they deny. With no mercy or help. As if I made up everything and want free handouts. Because whatever, laziness. So depressing to

It is significantly easier to be approved for disability if you are 50 or older. It is difficult to be approved under age 50, and loss of use of one hand will not qualify under age 50. You might want to consider applying again.

If you feel certain you're disabled, and your claim is denied, it's best to immediately file a written appeal. However, only about 20% of written appeals are approved. If your written appeal is denied, don't give up, ask for an appeal in court - because about 70% of appeals that go to court are approved. Also, you should seriously consider getting an attorney. That means an attorney who specializes in Social Security Disability cases. If your claim eventually is approved, the attorney will get some of the money - but that's much better than you getting nothing. I'll be talking more about a disability attorney in my December 15, 2022 video.

Hello! 5:54pm I am supporting my 24-year-old son who is on the autism spectrum and recently applied for Social Security disability. There are many steps to it, but the next step he has is to take a mental status exam by a psychologist. Anything? I read about social security insurance and Social Security disability insurance has to do with physical disabilities. What exactly are they looking for or questioning? Will they ask to help with supportive evidence of his autism spectrum disorder? I don't hear or see anything that has to do with this disability. Thank you very much. Okay.

Most autistic kids can work, rarely some cant. my brother has Down's syndrome, After high school he worked 7 years as a dishwasher for pizza hut, then another 8 years bagging groceries. He only quit working when he got stool incontinence he also became impossible to understand his speech. It use to be you worked until its impossible to work. but now you work until the first chance you have to stop working

@DisabilityExams
@DisabilityExams 5 ай бұрын
It would depend. I've seen a few patients who were way overmedicated with prescription. sedative drugs. In that case, I put down I thought they were overmedicated, and would recommend reducing their medication dosage. In my opinion "a slew of narcotics, and medical marijuana, and oral ketamine" likely means you are likely overmedicated.

Just had my Disability Exam yesterday and other then asking me about my back pain which I told him I had severe spinal stenosis and had just 2 months prior had a 2 level ACDF of C4-C5 and C5-C6 with a C5 corpectomy where the Preoperative Diagnoses was 1. Cervical spondylitic myelopathy 2. Cervical radiculopathy 3. Spinal cord compression and the Postoperative Diagnoses was the exact same since the surgery was basically to keep it from getting worse, Then he checked his computer for a few minutes then did the strength tests on my arms and legs and had me squeeze his fingers then that was it lasted no more then 7-8 minutes and it was over, Im not sure how much you can garner from less then 10 minutes but it cant be much........or maybe Im wrong. Edit: I was approved in April of 2023 for SSI as of this writing now its Jan. 11, 2024 I'm having my second surgery in Feb. this time it will be a posterior Laminectomy between C-3 and C-6 with fusion hopefully this will decompress my spinal cord enough this time.
