Tbh, if you found your taxi driver is sketchy then don't ask them to wait, just pay and let him go. Why? The shorter your dealing with the sketchy people, the better. You could go back by using more trusted ways of transportation like Go Car, Uber, Taxi or something like that. Try to befriend local people by go hangout in local restaurants. Learn bit Indonesian and they would gladly help you. Stay safe and have nice holiday in Indonesia..

Zane, in Indonesia you must have the Gojek application and the Grab application, those are for online motorbikes and online taxis and food ordering

That is why in the Philippines there's always licensed tour guides everywhere especially in remote areas and places similar to that area. You're lucky enough Zane but If something bad happened to you it will be your fault. I wonder why like theres no one there that takes account for the names of visitors in that area and theres no environmental fee or whatever to maintain the place especially the cleanliness considering this is Bali which is a supposedly touristy area. You take care next time Zane. You are lucky this time but you might not know so utter precautions must be taken into considerations. Adventure is okay but dont risk your life.

In any rice fields like that you have to be extra careful also because there might be cobras or any poisonous snakes around. Its better to be extra careful than never.

i am a big fans ur channel bro, I think for safety journey u should ask or get some a little guide from a local to go where places u wan to visit, because we didn't know the risk and danger in that places. if you go to water fall should not alone...its very dangerous, if something happen with you no one will help you. Find information a lot to place that you want to visit. Even me as local people never go alone to water fall.
