Some years ago I lost close to forty pounds over several months. I worked hard to do it and was happy about it and felt good. One rather chunky friend kept talking about it, saying things like, “People are asking me if you’re okay. That you look too thin.” One morning at a ladies’ meeting two or three ladies (including my close friend) started in on me about how thin I was. I’d had it by this time. I smiled and said, “Okay, but if we’re going to talk about my weight, we’re going to talk about everybody’s weight.” Never heard another word about it. 😊

My favorite thing to ask tall people specifically is which car they find most comfortable/what do they drive. It's one of those topics people rarely feel indignant about and they get to vent their frustrations or exclaim their elations.

I am a teacher and I am about 5'2" with my shoes on, so around 5th grade, sometimes even 4th, the kids that are going to be tall start sprouting and I start teasing them that they are eating too many vegetables and growing too fast and that I don't appreciate it, and usually they get that I'm teasing, but every now and then I get a very literal child who tries to explain that they cannot control their own growth....I always double down and argue that they are directly disrespecting me by their choice of height....I worry about some of these kids who don't have senses of humor.

Believe it or not, there's actually an easy fix for this problem: when she asks you to pick where you are going, just tell her it's a surprise, that way, you don't have to tell her where yer going until you get there! And when she tries to object, just tell her flat out "Well, yer the one that made the mistake of putting me in charge of this in the first place, so you tell me where the blame should fall."

Same, if I am with my teenagers, they climb in the cart and I hold it steady while they get the high stuff (I am 5'2" and my hudband is 5'4" we have not magically made tall people). I have on occaision had to ask a tall person walking by to grab something, but usually I go grab a tall bag boy from up front, but yah, if you are tall and walking down the aisle, I might ask if you mind.

People are always making comments about me being so short! It doesn’t hurt my feelings, But it’s gotten really old and annoying! My height doesn’t bother me! But it seems to bother other people, I guess. I try to blow it off. I usually say, “ I’m fun size” or “ I’m travel size, for your convenience!”(Donkey in Shrek) Lol! I’m 4’11” btw. My late husband was 6’2”
