I remember playing those games on Kongregate growing up- I loved playing the second one because you could get an achievement for every ending type whether you were a lone wolf or if you killed them all or survived with the others. It was so fun and I can’t wait to see you play number 3! I believe there’s also a number 4 but that one you have to pay for.

It’s cool how it has the same concept of don’t escape with different settings. The werewolf one was cool but the zombie apocalypse one was actually very scary. It put you in the situation of what you’d do if there was a horde of zombies coming your way.

Oh Manly, you glorious human being you, Script Welder is absolutely amazing. His games slap! And the Don't Escape and Deep Sleep trilogies were/are all FTP! He didn't make a paid game until within a year or so ago! 1 and 3 were pretty easy, but I had such trouble getting the badged (Kongregate) endings for 2.

Very good games but I personally liked the werewolf one better, if only because all endings had a different outcome and title. Instead the zombie one was either you survived or you died, and if you kill the friends it only says "you have survived the night" instead of "you, Jeremy and Father Bernard have survived the night". Also I like the novelty of the "I mustn't escape in order to not hurt others", while the "I mustn't let the zombies in" is a very common trope.

oh man, old flash games? i just spent an hour downloading some for prosperity and all. love how quickly you figured it out! if you're ever looking into old flash games again, i'd recommend vorago by godlimations. it's a point & click game pretty heavily based on steven king's the mist. it's age definitely shows, but it's short and makes for a really unnerving experience.

Oh dang, the Don't Escape series! I remember playing these all the time on Kongregate. Definitely some of the best flash games out there. That said, I always kind of felt like the series sort of lost something after the first game. The original was a pretty brilliant subversion of the ever popular escape flash games at the time. Meanwhile the later entries just felt like... a normal flash adventure game, instead of a fun deconstruction game. Or maybe I was just turned off because the sequel game was a Zombie game and I was so sick of zombies at the time. Still very excellent games. Especially for free games you could play in your browser!

There's monster hunter in the ending? I remember from watching mark years ago the repurcussion for escaping was only guilt from killing villagers. Maybe I'm misremembering?

The hunters only show up if you did poorly and the werewolf was too caught up in killing people. IIRC, Mark always tried to win, even on his first attempt, so his werewolf always fled due to lack of stamina and the hunters never got to him.
