This is a very unpopular subject, but you're correct. Looks matter. You're definitely respected when you dress well. You're also respected when you're not obese.

I am obese. And I recently decided that I dont wanna live this way anymore. But I will say this, I've had to do some DEEP soul searching to come to this realization. And I KNOW U or anybody else doesn't care, but it hurts. It actually hurts To know that u could be a "good person" but NO ONE will care about u, JUS BECAUSE ....... You're obese. Thank you for your comment. Hope u have a good day.

The last day of checking into hospital to die my dad....a doctor himself....groomed himself, dressed well, cleaned his shoes and went gracefully for the joyous union with his maker. A brand ambassador for his great creator. Always well dressed,self respecting, polite and kind. Every human was his sibling from his great father. Even the bothersome family members....😂 You dont want the only time youre welldressed and groomed is when youre lying in your coffin. Also dressing is a great way to get in touch with your own soul using color and texture which stimulate your personal creative sense and is actually super therapeutic. My mom dresses up and my dad dressed sober.😊

Reputation is beyond your control. The Stoics teach that virtue and character is more important than a good reputation, which, even you alluded to might not even be based on the truth. Also, not caring what others think is a casual way of saying, “I don’t value your opinion of me over my opinion of myself.” Finally, looks matter. But more important than looks is aura/energy. Even a little chihuahua can cause a stir. 👍🏾
@StillBillz2 ай бұрын
You've misunderstood the message. Reputation is a marker of you. That should be important i.e a pedo may feel he's not nasty but his reputation makes him disgusting. Your logic means as long as the pedo perceives himself as an honorable person, then he's okay cos our opinion of him doesn't matter?

I love this message. I spent some time in Miami and what I appreciated was how people make it a point to take care of themselves and to look presentable, and it taught me a very valuable lesson about appearance. But specifically, how you investing in your appearance makes you feel better. And then therefore influences the energy around you. Thank you for sharing this message and for reinforcing something important that I learned from life experience.

Men always have an opinion on makeup. When most of the time they are attracted to women who wear it and don’t even realize it. Makeup is not a bad thing. I actually encourage women to invest in it. It’s to enhance, not hide. And if you use it appropriately, it elevates your look.
@masteringpsychologynow3 ай бұрын
Yes, naturally men have an opinion as men are the buyers of the female market. Unless a women is homosexual then the man's opinion wouldn't be necessary. That's akin to saying people who drive cars always have an opinion on cars. Of course they do. What enhances a woman can be done from the inside out and not the outside in. Nutrition, exercise, spirit, intelligence, etc. Not saying that makeup is a bad thing (though i'm not a fan of it), simply saying that if used it is probably best (health wise) to be used sparingly. What goes on your skin gets in your blood. Best regards and thanks for commenting.
