Also, yes appearance matters. My mom and I were living in poverty when I was a child but no one at school knew because she made sure my appearance was nice. That situation was temporary so my mom made sure we never looked like what we were going through.

I was literally just saying this while doing my skincare. I find it hard to be consistent and disciplined with self-care routines and my bible - so doing so not out of vanity but to adorn the temple of God is such a good message! Amen!

This video was another confirmation for me. I feel God changing my style and appearance for the better. I am believing in God for my Kingdom husband. I can’t expect to attract the type of Godly man I want by dressing to showcase my body. As God is maturing me, He is also elevating my appearance. He has been telling me to cover my bum in my gym leggings lately. Ladies if you hear God telling you to cover up, listen even if you don’t want to. You never know who is watching you.

Praise God for telling you this and I am so proud of you for listening to God about this. It’s so important on so many levels. One being that as women, if we dress to showcase our bodies, we are doing it to get attention from men. The thing is that a woman dressing that way can also be attracting the attention of men that belong to other women. That can cause those women to feel down, frustrated in their relationship (even if their man is trying not to look!) and therefore feeling disrespected by other women. It can be lonely as a woman to look around and see nothing but women showing off their bodies especially if we are intentionally dressing to not show off. All that to say thank you for obeying The Lord in this. You honor God and other women and sister’s in Christ by making this change.

Whenever I see an extremely beautiful person. That is like 97% natural beauty I can't help but give all the praise and glory to God! That's his creation he created that beautiful person. Now what they choose to do with their good looks it's up to them but yeah it's definitely God. And we praise God for so many things but when it comes to attractive Ness I don't really hear him getting the glory

This is an healthy way of seeing and understanding and showing that appearance matters. Not just our faith, inner personality and characters but outside appearance matters. I used to hate the idea of self care e.g make up, coloring hair, accessories, fashion and dressing up just because the Bible explicit said 1 samuel 16:7 The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.'” Proverbs 31:30 “Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.“ 1 Peter 3:3-4 “Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.” I used to think Godly man will care more of our inner beauty and character as God see and look. So I don’t pay attention much to how i dress, how i take care of my body and face and outward appearance because for me back then it feels and looks like wordly superficial thing. Like true christian wouldn’t care that. Also it came from a rejection that guys like prettier girls and i don’t see myself more pretty or capable (at make up and fashion) than them. But i realize i actually feels happy just taking care of myself, seeing beauty in God’s eyes and guidance and i like to dress up (not so much makeup more skincare) more and just find out my seasonal color. I also enjoy doing manicure, styling my hair or choose hair color. Now my motivation is not to gain people attention or because the world sees it. But it is because i want to respect God and myself and be a good representative for Him.

After a lot of trauma between 2020 and 2023; including rapidly losing my mom to dementia, stage 4 breast cancer and a new marriage with a husband that was not one bit emotionally supportive in any way all before the age of 40..God brought me through. I am now healed, my husband is changing and I'm no longer grieving like I was. The only thing is that I became a recluse during that time and have completely lost what it means to be a woman and a friend and so many other things. It's like I'm relearning things I should know, but surgery made it hard to feel feminine. So much to work through, but this really helped. Thank you!

Doesn’t mean God doesn’t tell us for steward our bodies well, that our body is a temple, and that God has LITERALLY highlighted men’s Handsomeness, even one being “the most handsome” and same for women being “very beautiful. When Ruth was told to make herself beautiful and get ready for Boaz, she put on Mehr & made herself appealing to the eye. Proverbs woman is also spoken about her beauty too. So, idk why you are using this. God tell us to not put our looks in vain & idolizing our looks and looking for self validation from others, when our validation comes from Jesus. There is nothing wrong looking nice and smelling extra nice, nothing wrong with it.

For me, I grew up a tomboy (the traditional kind aka loved sports, climbing fences, video games, etc) and had no sense of fashion nor cared to be seen as a girly girl. I would wear dresses to church as it was expected, but didn't care to dress up otherwise. I also didn't want guys to like me for my looks as I found that shallow. I'd rather someone fall for me for my personality, intelligence etc. I also have really bad hyperpigmentation, so when I got bit up by mosquitoes and had chicken pox as a kid, I didn't care to wear skirts anymore cause I was embarrassed of my cheetah legs. If I wore skirts or dresses to church, I always wore stockings under it. In my early 20s, as a certain community gained more popularity, I felt a little ashamed that men were more feminine than I, so I wanted to try a little harder for God's sake. I didn't want to accidentally be confused or identified as one of them. It can also be embarrassing if you go out like a slob to run errands, no makeup to hide your dark spots, baggy clothes, hair under a hat...and you run into somebody you know. I really hated when photos were taken without prior warning like when a birthday was being celebrated at work. I only had dark clothes so it took a while to add more colour. I also started doing photoshoots since all I had were selfies (I take pics of people and experiences, but people don't take pics of me), and it certainly made me more aware of what clothes works and doesn't work on me. I'd be wearing skinny jeans and a leather jacket, but I have a big chest and a small bum, so it'd make me look really top heavy. Skirts definitely work best for my body shape, and since my scars have mostly healed, I've gotten more comfortable having my legs out without stockings. I work from home, so anytime I have an event, I'll make the effort to put on makeup and wear something nice and girly. Usually my hair is cornrowed for weeks so I can just do a twist out style which is really cute. I'm still a little lazy when it comes to looking nice to run errands, but I feel a little more inspired to try a little harder even for those short outings.

Im trying not to do fake anything...i was hooked on fake nails forever, like 32 years of getting them done, I use to not want to go out if one was broken..thats how Insecure/vain I was...but now i just try to take care of the ones i got so they can get strong & hard & to save money just to polish them myself...also the dying of the hair to let my gray hairs come in...my husband thinks fake eyelashes are Hideous or id be trying that too but found hes more happy with the appeal of no fake anything on me. I dont know why people like the fake? Maybe its because deep down it takes money & time to get those things done so it appeals to the human eye...either way im trying to let go of anything fake its been quite the process 😳😉✌️

Amen! Holy Spirit lives inside of us and because of that we need to house, respect and honor Him properly by taking care of our health, our body in general. This is part of knowing our identity in Christ, knowing who we are in Christ- regal and royal children of the most high God. How we conduct ourselves and overall take care of ourselves matters. You don’t need to have a ton of money, be “worldly”, vain, or have a surplus of resources to be nicely put together. For those that this video and message is offensive to or just doesn’t resonate with you- it’s okay, take it to the Lord. This royal, ambassador of Christ , high standard of self and Holy Spirit type of care and lifestyle isn’t for anyone that doesn’t want it; maybe because they don’t believe it to be true and therefore feel it doesn’t have any impact or significance . It’s for those that fully grasp this message, respect their body , therefore, also, Holy Spirit. Once you know your identity and role here in earth 🌍 as a representative of God - you will think twice if you even need to at all about going out untidy, with a disheveled, overall sloppy appearance. If God doesn’t see an effort in the small and very basics of daily higiene, body health care how can he trust us with the bigger blessings he d like to give us that we would not be well equipped , mature, disciplined to take care of, tend to and grow into and from. Our outer appearance is 100% correlated to what is going on inside of our ❤ and how we feel about ourselves and Holy Spirit inside of us.

This is AMAZING! I was literally just praying to God about this yesterday while showering. I just do the absolute bare minimum with myself, and I know I can do more. but I just don't see the point. I also was nonverbally taught that taking care of your self is selfish, and self centered. that there are bigger things to worry about, rush rush rush and get out the door. I've even had my own mom track my shower time (normal showers) so it scares me from taking out the proper time fir myself. But thank you so much for obedience to make this video! very encouraging!

I agree so much with this. My church is full of overweight and obese black women. It’s really sad actually and I pray for us. For those whose weight is a result of trauma, low self esteem , illness or lack of discipline. I meet girls in the young adults that are only 22 years old and weigh 200+. @@kristalreyes712 Hi! If I may encourage you, I'm reminded of Matthew 6:25-34. There are times where I worry about my clothing because I don't wear as many of the outfits I own. I wear a select few that I know are appropriate and won't distract me or others. Sometimes, however, I worry about whether I'll be judged for wearing the same clothes and then I think about these verses. It is not just about my clothing. It is not just about heart. It is both that matter to the Lord. I encourage you to ask the Lord to work on your heart and that you will follow His prompting in regards to how to look for clothes and how you wear what you already have! In regards to acne, I am not a doctor but I do know it is affected by many components, so discuss with your doctor! Also, Calendula infused oil is great for scarring. I use it on my face and body to help with that and eczema. It has helped me greatly. I hope you are encouraged❤

What really truly matters is your spirit and the connection/relationship you build with God. Not necessarily how you look. Everlasting life doesn’t include this physical body or your appearance. Though, I digress, you should treat this body as a temple that houses the power of the Holy Spirit. 🙌🏽

So then it rings even more true that we don't alter our bodies and take on fake personalities and identities. He even said dont mark your body so it all makes sense.

The fact we're all separated by religion. And you only believe what you believe in that single religion. Everyone preaches but don't realize how dumb they look when you're separated as a religion. He wants everybody to come together as a whole and not believe any religion. Just God himself

What’s dumb is to think that we all can be united while in this sinful flesh, God never call us to be all united with the world, our focus should be our local biblical churches.

I feel like there are infinitely more important things to preach to Christian women than appearance. Sociologically speaking, women are groomed their entire lives to care about their appearance. This is nothing new. Everyone should care for their appearance but not to the point of making a whole show of it like this. Nothing I wear will make me more or less feminine. God made me feminine, therefore I am. How that manifests changes for everyone.

I think you both miss the context of the video if you indeed watched it. It really is about balance in our lives as believers. Some focus too heavily on appearance and neglect the inner character, while others don't put any effort or care into how they look (maybe from trauma etc, whatever)...the latter is her target audience here. God does care how we present ourselves and maybe it's not an important video for you, but for someone stuck in depression, caring about appearance can also be a tool to encourage healthy habits. God cares about us as a whole, not in part. Just saying, not every video is for us, and thats ok...maybe its for a sister in Christ struggling.

She is not preaching that appearance makes you more or less feminine. She’s diving into how you decide to appear inextricably links to how you perceive yourself. We have a duty, a role to play as Christians and what we represent as Ambassadors of Christ.

This statement is one of the reasons why other cultures of women are thriving. I have to say as a black woman we have to do better with the “take me as I am” mindset. You need to put in the effort and the work. Appearance is a huge part of it! Especially if God himself is telling you too. I understand this video fully and most women are not putting in effort with their appearance. There are instances where you femininity is stagnant, trust me other people can easily point it out to you.

you are a false teacher-- John the baptist sure wasn't worried if people were into his "look". This is worldliness and you are twisting scripture for your own vanity. If you truly want to follow Christ, take up your cross, do not conform to the world. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

The Bible describes our body as a temple. So, be healthy, take care of yourself, be clean and have good hygiene. Yes, you are a representative of Christ. But plastic surgery, caking your face in makeup and constantly worrying about your looks is a bit over the top.
