You may be able to turn off that stop/start feature. My wife has a Mercedes and I turned it off by going into the settings. That feature is stupid and is not good for the engine. The fuel savings are so minuscule that it's not even worth it anyway.

I find if you don't lean too hard on the pedal it doesn't shut off. Just enough pressure to keep it stopped.

I have a 2022 Ford transit, under the driver seat is the battery. There is a sensor that monitors the battery level under a simple plastic cover. Unplugged that sensor cable and that will prevent the vehicle from shutting off at stops. Part of the shut off system makes sure there's enough juice in the battery, with that sensor disconnected, it disables the shut off at stop feature. It will give you a notice every time you start that the shut off feature is deactivated, just hit OK. It's very simple and you can easily plug it back in if needed.

Yep. Scotty Kilmer says the Eco Boost is hard on the engine. I have the standard 2020 Ford Transit. No complaints. When I drive down to Maryland from Pa to visit family (independent Living Facility) I stay in hotel parking lots overnight. I don’t stay in the hotel, just the parking lot.

You can offer the front desk person 20 to let you park overnight in their lot. In a pinch. Kripalu center has parking too in Lenox.

In my 2021 Explorer I was able to turn off that start/stop feature. There was a designated button. I had to do it every time, which was a pain, but I agree that it can’t be good for the motor. Also, I’ve seen that a thermal fan can work with a buddy heater also. Can blow the warm air around. Saw some KZbin videos on that.

Apparently there was a way to do I tin the transit but Ford took that option away with a software update this year! I need to get rid of that ffffnnf thing!!

Matt a lot of the vehicles that have that automatic shut down at lights can be turned off so that it doesn't do that I have a friend that has an F-150 and is able to turn that off I will do a Google search

You can turn off that auto restart fairly easy you have to remove the front trim panel and put a different auto start Eliminator in its place I would do that if I was you it also will save your starter from having to be replaced just Google it it looks fairly easy

When u make trips btwn boston and the berkshires, theres a town called greenfield that sits 95miles west of boston.I believe they might be ok with parking on main st. It's been awhile since iv'e been up there....but you could give it a try maybe.

Let’s talk lighting. When u were sitting in your front seat and the sun (I guess) was shining, your eyes lit up! I mean amazing light blue. You need to market that. Many of your closing shots are end of day in the van near the back. While the Van lighting is super cool, you are not exposing one of your best personal features. Doesn’t have to be a close up, but the eyes are the window to the sole! Your sponsors will relate to your brilliant eye color. And maybe wear some blue?. Nuff said. Last last Maybe you ought to take the van to a Campervan builder / electrical expert and get a once over. Great show. Love Beantown, but not the Sox. Sorry! LOL

Think you are the greatest..love your style...can l tell you about Ford transits..l drove one for years delivering...beautiful van until it wasn't...once you start having trouble...get another van...my boss was forever working on 3 transits he owned...they were from England but l am afraid l would never get one....having said that ..l am no expert on vans...so please don't think l am one of those people ..all l want is for you to be happy

What’s interesting is that the technology seems different from a hybrid engine. Hybrids shut off the engine too and switch to battery but you never really feel it and it’s smooth.

I can't really speak to the Sprinter since I've never owned one. I've had numerous problems with the Transit mostly related to the powertrain, but the good side is there is always a ford service center near by and I can get things taken care of in a matter of days. That wouldn't be the case with Sprinters.

Turn off that eco boost ! It deystroyed the starter not to mention hard on the engine … an engine wants to keep running plus kills the gas mileage … it’s just a gimmick.. put “ Johns heating oil and propane “ on the sides of the van .. no one will ever bug you they’ll think your fixing a burner

when the storms get real bad I used to head over to the Truckstop in Cannaan..... safe parking in the front auto parking area and they dont run you off...... The plaza is open 24/7 they have clean hot showers good coffee shop also ... something to think about when your over this way...... I live right by your favorite car wash
