From my experience with the Cambridge exams so far, I can confirm that without proper preparation one is to struggle quite a lot, especially with the Writing part

Morning Ben! Another excellent piece of advice from you, indeed. Something that contributed to helping me improve my writing skills before taking the Proficiency test is the Cambridge "Write & Improve" tool.

Yes, Write & Improve is a useful tool

It is widely known that step-by-step makes the way, even a page-turner book called Atomic Habits puts focus on the relevance of tiny challenges in order to achieve the top. All these pearls agree with some parts of your video which even gives more worth to your message. This is my everyday paragraph of writing following your recommendations Thanks for giving me the chance to do it.

Hi Ben! I just wanted to let you know that I took my C1 exam and ended up getting a B2 (I was only four points below) which I’m actually quite happy with. So thank you for all your videos they were super helpful!!

Thank you Ben, I really needed to hear that.

For me, it was the opposite. I struggled the most with the reading part. I sat for B2 some time ago and I got high scores for both writing and speaking. However, the reading part was below level. Now, I'm preparing for C2 exam which I'll take in 29 days! Your videos are very helpful :)

Thank you! I’m trying to prepare for the exam (18th Nov) despite some challenges, as you mentioned in the video 😅 Hope you’re well, too. And thanks for your hard work, your videos are a kind of supportive “training” for me 😄

I am used to write in English. All the same, I think this is a very good suggestion.

Taking your advice as a challenge here to write some words in English. I guess that it is true that one can improve only if allows oneself to make mistakes while practicing. But one of the things that I find curious is even when in my head the senteces that I write may sound (read?) correct or just logical may not be for a native english speaker. So it seems the optimal way to correct this, is to go ahead, write something down and wait for a native to be kind enough to point out how ridiculous or nonsensical is what I wrote. Anyway, here it goes...(or went). Thank you for the video!

Hi Ben! Thanks for your sharing. I started to write "something" in the beginning of this month. It was hard for me on the first 10 days. Because I did not have any idea to write the sentences and it was not easy for me to consolidate my idea in brain by words. Now, I feel easier to write my idea through the writing. I have a question. How do I correct those writings that I can improve English better? Thanks!

Can you tell me do the examiners take into account the students handwriting when correcting their exams ?

Ben as usual your videos are like a treasure. I'm used to writing every day on Write & Improve by Cambridge so that I can enter in the right mindset. Being Italian, I write some sentences in Italian before and after I translate them in English or translate articles from Italian to English to switch my mind. What do you think about it?
@tothepointenglishwithben. Жыл бұрын
That's great, Turi. The most important thing is that you're writing regularly. I do recommend that you also write directly in English sometimes, though.
