I’ve family and friends all over the world, but even those living right here in the US won’t know of you, and it makes me want to cry to think that many won’t click on the link I have shared with them to this treasure trove. As for me, I thank you for the learning, Dr. Taylor. Now I know that hormone sufficiency is the cure for what has ailed me since 2006. From my childhood I have been a seeker and advocate of healthy choices, but I have been miseducated on hormones in all continents and countries I have lived in; via every media and publishing format I care to name. Makes me mad! Makes me so very glad to have found you!

I went to see the gynecologist today with my bone density results showing I have osteopenia and when i asked she told me just to expect losing more bone. I told her about my predisposition to osteoporosis and she just told me thats the way it is for some women. She was reluctant to prescribe hrt but i got it. So what i learned is that even if you're on time to stop bone loss doctors pretty much won't do much until your loss is much greater 😡

@Menopause Taylor I recently came across your KZbin channel when my gynecologist put me on HRT last month. She also scheduled me a bone density test. The results came back that I had osteoporosis in my back area with a score of 2.6. They prescribed Actonel along with scheduling lab to check calcium/vitamin D levels. I have been post menopausal since 2018 at age 49. I am now 53. This is a bit overwhelming; however, I am grateful for finding your channel during my research.

My sister-in-law, age 65, and 15 years into her postmenopause, just got precisely this 'recommendation'- she was prescribed viatmin D and calcium for her osteopenia-- I went on a rant to my husband! And now I am lining up about 8 tuturials from you to watch on this topic beginning with this one--it's going to hit her hard; I will have to tell her to brace herself. And of course, I will tell her to watch them all from the beginning, just as I have. I am not there yet with menopause--maybe just at the 'outer ring' of perimenopause--but many of my friends are already experiencing difficult symptoms or are far down the road of paostmenopause. And as part of my solidarity with one of them, we decided to go on a hunt for educating ourselves on what we realized we knew nothing about. Whan I found you Dr Taylor, I have watched you diligently throughout this COVID crisis. And it has brought great peace of mind--and joy! Education does that-- but it also brings tremendous frustration when I see people I care about in such unecessarily painful, difficult and tragically deadly situations. I look forward to scheduling a consultation soon, with all the blessings, thank you!

I had an experience with an eye surgeon who would not perform the surgery on my cataracts until I bought glasses that I didn't need. I argued with her and she told me I was legally blind & she could have my driver's license taken away. So I spent my Obama era tax refund on glasses & did not have the money for the surgery and have owed on taxes ever since. I only need readers otherwise there's just a cloud and nothing is distorted. I cannot drive at night I now know what it is like being "blinded by the light" I can't see the road, other cars, buildings or trees. I am legally blind when trying to drive in the dark except on country roads with no street lights or traffic then I see just fine. On another appointment several years earlier when I tried to have lasix surgery so I wouldn't have to wear reading glasses I was told there was no surgery to fix that it was a normal loss of elasticity that comes with age. This is another type of doctor who wanted to draw things out instead of fixing to make more money and I am the one who suffers because I didn't have any more money. I am just saying I think that is what this calcium & vitamin d recommendation is about. They figure they can make a lot more money down the road by not simply fixing right now. I don't have a suggestion except look for another doctor if they refuse to simply prescribe some estrogen & fix it.

I raised the issue of sending me for an x Ray to check if it was or had been a fracture if it could be related to osteoporosis my gp basically laughed at me and said well if it's osteoporosis all you can do is take calcium and weight bear exercise I corrected the gp and said I already do this so I just want to know what it is so I can manage it and if its a fracture then I want a bone scan before I reach 65 what is the point in having a bone scan years down the line, my gp wasn't really happy but I have a plain xray referral now, I did mention that I haven't been on HRT to discuss that I haven't had that protection but before I could finish the gp blurted out we wouldn't give you HRT for a bone fracture even though I wasn't asking for HRT it's really like going through an obstacle course and this was a female gp!!!!!!!

@@MenopauseTaylor Thank you very much for explaining, Dr Taylor. Thanks to the education from you, I recently had a DEXA scan at age 56 and the result is upsetting. My T-scores were -2.1 and -2.5. I had not expected this, sinceI’ve been living a healthy lifestyle for decades, in terms of diet (whole foods, mostly plants), regular exercise, and I’ve been on HRT (0.05 mg patch & 100 mg progesterone pill) for almost two years now, beginning one year post menopause. I have a normal BMI and my annual complete bloodwork has always come back “normal”. My gynecologist is sending me to an endocrinologist now. It seems to me that my HRT dosage has not done much or anything for bone preservation or even bone building. But I only have had this one DEXA scan and don’t know my bone density status before beginning HRT. I hope the endocrinologist or my gynecologist will be able to tell me whether a higher estradiol dose would be worth a try to help my bones. Now I have to work on not seeing myself as “old and frail“ as a result of this information about my bones. 😞 I cannot thank you enough for this education, Dr Taylor. I used to think osteoporosis happens to “old” people and was not that big of a deal if you’re otherwise healthy. How come that 90 % of all gynecologist of the world disagree with you about HRT? They all get it wrong but only you understand the data? Sorry, if your chanel were about information you would be transparant that you promote an outsider opinion. In Europe you couldnt work as a gynecologist with views that are not state of the art.

Dr Louise Newson (English) has a channel too which covers all issues menopause as well but is in agreement with Dr Taylor (which I realize you are not) but it’s more concise if you’re willing to keep learning. Dr Taylor has hundreds of videos which I’ve watched. I highly recommend Dr Newsom though if you need quick, concise. I’ve read all her materials too (and many many others). I have found many gynos (worldwide) beginning to share Dr Taylor’s view and all my gynos here in the US (out of two major medical schools, UNC & Duke) support what she’s teaching. Anyway, she has many videos on why all the controversy started years ago and she's absolutely transparent about the many views. I keep doing my own research, educating myself and taking responsibility for my health choices (which she encourages), but my belief now is that she’s been ahead of the curve.

@@OscarMayer962 I find if you start at the very beginning with her videos in numerical order, you will then understand much more. It depends on how much research and time you are willing to put into it. I found it worth every minute. My gp and gynae here in South Africa agree with what Dr. Taylor says (my gynae is on the Menopause Society board of SA).

That is not a true statement when you say 90% of all gynecologist of the world disagree. Please only talk facts. Actually, here in Iowa mine agrees.

Dr. Taylor is totally ahead of the curve. She uses evidence based medicine and is not told how to think. If you see how studies in the past were not transparent with data and who was in the studies you will find that we have been lied to for too long. Dr Taylor wakes you up and gives you the facts! She knows what she is talking about. As far as her presentation style she is talking to the highly educated and those looking to learn more. You will thank her- trust me!
