Is it possible to reverse osteoporosis and have stronger bones? I have seen it happen many times with my patients. You can prevent/reverse osteoporosis with the tips I give in this video, as well as prevent/reverse osteopenia. Large drug companies would rather you not know this, but you deserve to know.
Bones are living tissues that are constantly being remodeled, and they are built of what you have eaten over the past few years. Osteoclasts are specialized cells that remove old & damaged bone tissue. Following behind them are Osteoblasts which are cells that lay down new bone matrix in a very strategic way. Your diet and lifestyle determine if this remodeling process leads to stronger or weaker bones; what you do and what you eat literally decide how strong your bones will be. These specialized cells down dissolve old bone and lay down new bone in some willy-nilly fashion, they are very wise in this process of increasing your Meaningful Bond Density.
Most of the prescription medications for Osteoporosis Treatment/Prevention hi-jack the actions of these specialized cells. Although these medications can increase your overall bone density; this increased density often does not lead to meaningful increases in bone strength and flexibility...

@@sarahjenkins8963 Hi Sarah, I am not a doctor, but I would say that you try to avoid the artificial calcium supplements like calcium carbonate, other "pill forms" or calcium fortified foods.. You'll get a useful list if you Google "calcium rich natural foods". I myself like yoghurt, cheese, dark leafy greens, seeds (hemp, pumpkin, sunflower), sardines, wild caught salmon... Probably discussed here already: study vitamin D3, K2, magnesium, boron, protein, proper exercise.

I'm 83 years old and I've been osteopenic for a couple years. I've started eating egg shells, taking a multivitamin,Vitamin D3 and K2 and a keto diet. I've always been a carnivior so meat is no problem. My one failing is I don't get enough exercise. I'm a retired Nurse so as a Supervisor I walked many miles every shift in a big Hospital. Now I make myself watch Dr. Berry over and over, And I'm back into my walking routine and lifting canned food for my arms. I'm determined to reverse this oseopenia before I leave this earth. Thank you Dr. Berry.

Hello from Australia. Have you reversed it yet. How are you going? How do you eat the egg shells and is that form of calcium absorbed. Can you be sure the egg shells are clean enough. That is do the chickens get fed GMO corn or the like? Here in Aus it is practically impossible to get healthy enough eggs.

I had to explain to my clinician why I'm taking K2 with D3 today. She said you can't be taking too much of that it thickens your blood. I said thats K1. - K2 helps D3 into the bone out of the bloodstream. She said 'well I've learned something new today!' I told her that I was surprised that this information wasn't automatically added to elderly patients advice to offer notes.

I am on NO medications and lean more towards Chiropractors. I'd been indoors a lot and sendentary due to music productions and hot weather in Arizona. 2 years ago, I moved to Virginia where they have more townhomes and stairs. I fell down, broke wrist, which is when they discovered Osteopenia. I began taking Vitamin D3 as they said, but they never told me about the Vitamin K. Or Keto diet. I prayed in faith today to find answers and found your video....thanks for the hope and direction. Blessings

Really good video. I've been actively working on reversing my severe osteoporosis. It has improved 16% by doing a lot of what he is talking about. I am still in a dangerous place. I've broken quite a few bones. A squeezed hug will fracture a rib. Laying my side with my arm underneath and reaching over and pressing on my arm will fracture a rib. I have hurt more ribs than I can count. I've broken both wrists (and I'm a professional keyboard player), stress fractured my back, broke my left elbow which is now wrapped in titanium with 13 screws, I've had a total shoulder replacement, and my last fall broke my left leg just below the hip. No hip replacement, but a rod was put down my thigh bone. Walking on it is painful and my balance is not good. I am so scared of falling. I use a rollator/transport chair chair to walk or be pushed if the pain is too bad. I am "only" 69. I plan on living much longer. My quality of life is important. Don't think this won't happen to you. My grandmother died only months after a hip replacement. My mother had osteopenia and died a few years after a stroke caused by diabetes and she didn't change her diet. (I found a half eaten bag of marshmallows hidden behind a couch cushion. These women lived to 89 and 91. Long lives, but the quality of those last years was not what I want. Old age should not be painful. You don't have to be sick and on a ton of meds. But you can't change it in the end. Having a scrappy diet is NOT worth the price you will pay.

Wow that must be difficult. I am 68 and recently stepped and missed the plank on a 2 meter high scaffold, landed flat on my back on concrete, got up and carried on, not even a bruise. Last week missed the top step on a steep staircase carrying a load of electric tools. Head, torso and lead leg went down, the other leg bent backward. Thought hip might go but no problem. I guess bone health like anything can go wrong decades before an event but I feel the last 6 years on keto with CrossFit training and palates and the last year on meat & water with regular HIT weight training has probably been a plus.

Dr Berry - thank you so much for this video. I recently broke my wrist after an horrendous fall in the garden and was subsequently given a DEXA scan. The results indicated severe osteoporosis of the spine and osteopenia in my neck and hip. I’m 69 years’ old and the only treatment I was offered was a Zoledronic acid (Aclasta) infusion. The diagnosis was scary and I was very upset about it. I’ve been reading the literature I was given by the hospital about the Zoledronic acid and the side effects listed are numerous and very concerning ie, the jaw bone exposure risk, thigh bone fractures and a common one being Atrial Fibrillation! (1 in 10 people). I understand this can lead to strokes. After watching your video, I have decided not to have the infusion and will do my best to improve/reverse my osteoporosis by natural means. Thank you again

So far I’ve lost 1.5” in height and I’ve been getting? (Steroid) injections in my spine for pain. Just recently I noticed my thigh muscles we’re getting very soft, I’ve read where steroids will do this. Any advice? I’m due for another injection next week & seriously thinking of canceling my appointment. I go to a chiropractor also which keeps me going, he told me that he doesn’t see how I am walking, (he looked at my spinal xrays). I think in order to get my pain meds, you got to take the injections, which is wrong.

If you add some fat (MCT oil, coconut oil heavy cream) you get a double whammy for crossing the blood brain barrier. I’ve seen a lady that had crippled fingers drink the Turmeric tea and resulted in having normal fingers. I was truly amazed.

pretty and young Absolutely, I didn't want to break my leg, or have my jaw disintegrate. A friend of a friend had all her teeth fall out. I'd rather be proactive and let food, nutrition and exercise work WITH my body instead of pills with a "bad track record". And as an added note, removal of my ovaries also ruined my eyes. The drop in estrogen let cataracts develop (within 1 year and bad enough to need surgery 6 mo after). The surgery, by damaging muscle in left eye, left me with double vision. Do your own research on these last two points, you'll find it.

Anyway I hope and pray 🙏😌 we will get well. Thanks to Dr Berry 🙌🙏😀👍

Bones are living tissue with a rich blood supply, which is why they can heal themselves and actually heal quickly than ligaments which DON'T have a very good blood supply I remember when I learned about human biology and about bones. I was blown away when I learned about the skeleton
