Preach Brother! I've been using the Kernom Ridge and Boss EQ-200 for a few years now, and I have yet to find a drive tone I can't duplicate. Those two pedals cured my drive pedal GAS!

That’s why I gotta say that my 3 guitars just work well. I don’t need to chase down an expensive USA Strat when my partscaster that’s worth about 1/4 of the price of the USA. It just works. Same with my partscaster tele (even though that’s got a USA body).

I've recently done a bit of an overdrive pedal deep dive. In most of them, the differences are actually very subtle, usually coming down to the mid frequencies and clipping characteristic. Very subtle. A ts9, odr1, and Zendrive are closer that i thought, and a Duke of Tone can cop all of those tones really well, especially when paired with an EQ pedal.

Absolutely! My entire rig is cheap. My pedalboard totals $359. Wampler Plexi>Tonex One>Walrus Mako delay. That’s it. Guitar is $199 used from GC. Lol! Entire rig for under $600.

Thanks Bro, you are so right.......!!!!!! Wish me luck -- I recently commented to you that I just bought a new profiler (toaster) and I can't sync up the profiler with the rig manager on my mac. You stated to go to Kemper for the problem -- which I did and they said there was a software problem they are working on so I have to get a Clean USB and follow the instructions they provided which I will. Hopefully I'll get 1) the old stored rig manager and 2) the new one.......... makes things so much easier that hand scrolling through the Kemper.

One thing is guitarists need to remember, the 80’s are over and we’re not cool anymore. No one besides other players cares about the brand of stuff we use anymore and no one wants to see the Marshall stack anymore let alone thinks we’re cool for having one 😂. Nothing clears out a bar quicker than everyone seeing a 4x12 roll in. So if your audience doesn’t care about your gear… take what works and don’t worry about it. Your Harley Benton or squier works just fine don’t be ashamed of it.

Bars. It's not 2007 anymore--nobody gets a hard-on about what boutique gear you have. The muscle car analogy is perfect: great conversation pieces, but highly impractical and a fast way to empty your wallet

@@Saywhatiwantto right, I have expensive stuff and it never leaves my house for that reason. I take the cheap shyt to play in front of people. There’s a reason I have 4 old peavey bandits and 3 squier bullet Strats just sitting in my back room. Who gives a hoot if someone walked off with something that was 100 bucks off market place.

EQ pedals are cool for this type of comparison…but impractical for gigging when you start to gain stage. I think the bigger conversation is paying $500+ for a Nobles vintage or $50 for a Nobles mini used. Also identical and equally as stable on a board.
@ToneJunkieTV3 күн бұрын
Why are EQ pedals impractical for gigging?
@jburdsinfuse3 күн бұрын
@ Are you going to stack three EQ pedals? If I’m on stage, turning a knob on my Browne Protein in between songs is a lot easier than figuring out which of the 30 bands across three pedals would get me what I needed. Not impossible…but probably not an accident I never see multiple EQs on player boards. I have always had an EQ on my board, but it’s for me to compensate for the room, PA and front of house, not my drive section.

I use the Behringer OD300 and TO800 Overdrive Pedals,If you do not need the Mid bump and not as much of a low end cut try the OD300,this pedal can give you a thicker Crunch and Metal tones than the TO800 but still cut some low end and a little boost in the high end without the Mid bump!

After testing far over 100, buying over 30 Drives over the last 15 years, only 4 Drives, 3 different Fuzzes, 3 Booster and 1 Amp in a Box are left and after learning to combine them i found out that there is hardly any sound i can't (re-)create if needed. The funny thing is that have "my sound" which means i only/mostly use "the one". With more ore less gain, or boosted. ...just one. How silly is that!?

Hi, I have purchased a tone pack for the Quad Cortex on the 21st of December that hasn’t been shared with me yet. I also purchased the entire Quad Cortex library on your site yesterday. I have tried emailing and reaching out through your FB page. I really dig the stuff I bought from your site for my ToneX and would really like to get what I purchased for the QC. Is there a better way to contact you for support?

I hesitate writing stuff like that because there's a risk of sounding like a grandpa complaining about the younger generation(s). 😃 But what's really funny to me is that nowadays very usable gear is so affordable and you have all these tools you can do everything with, yet people seem to become less and less happy to try out new things. There's so many conventions on the internet what to use and do to achieve certain sounds that people seem to just stick to those instead of exploring. From a psychological standpoint it makes a lot of sense because with all these possibilities and all this freedom you might feel overwhelmed so you stick to "safe" ways of doing something. Especially in certain metal genres everybody sounds the same now and I think that's a real pity! Sponsored ( _but the opinion is completely mine_ ) guitar youtubers unanimously announcing absolute "gamechangers" every other week help making people insecure as well. 😃

I've had a Dean Evo Special Select (Les Paul body that got them sued) for 14 years. It has excellent hardware and push-pull knobs to send the pickups out of phase. It sounds every bit as good as any Les Paul I've ever heard. So why do people feel the need to buy multiple guitars with the same style of body? I have a T style partscaster, the Dean Evo, and a Fender Vintera 60s Modded Strat. If I ever buy a Tele or a Strat again, I'll punch myself in the face. How do other people do it?! 😂❤

I have a KTR (Not the Centaur, but still far more ridiculous than it should be) and an MIJ TS10. I'm going to say it now, They are NOT worth $1,000+(I paid MSRP for the KTR). Their tone can be achieved with a good klone or TS. Hell, the Mini screamer or the hand-wired tube screamer is just as great, if not better.
