Here it the thing tho you usually only can pull thru a 1/4 " port unless your at the rack and you have access to 3/8 angle valve. They don't speed up the evac that much unless you have that 3/8 access

May I know how to use this set on the package unit since the package unit can't pull the core out.

You made an excellent video so now I could stop trying to explain to every technician how vacuum works and restrictions just save this video to favorites and keep passing it along with all your other videos.

Looks like a field connection from the true blue 3/4'' to 1/4'' inch with that butterfly tightener does is actually come from the factory from 3/4'' to 1/4''.

Is the Blue hose made of a material that has negligable offgassing at sub 100micron? The material be more hydrophobic too?

Best video fore vacumm ever!!! Great job!!!! Thank you

I bought all this but don’t use it. By the time I hook it all up, I can hook up my field piece manifold with 3/8 hose and pull vacuum in about the same time. Yes this is faster. But I have to use a micron gauge and more fittings. I don’t deny an advantage I just don’t see it when I have to carry more stuff up a 3 story apartment roof and hook up more stuff. I save 3 minutes but spend 10 making more trips up and down the ladddr etc.

Thanks. Great explanation. Looks like another purchase to add to my wish list. 😁

I'm new in the HVAC-field and I'm from Germany. I like the big diameter of the hose. We have always 5/16" SAE connections at the R410a and R32 heatpumps. Can I use the Kit also for 5/16" connections? Is there an adpater included? Maybe it`s a stupid question, but I'm new in this field.

Good explanation! But I think the 1/4 hose is clogged or blocked. There’s no hissing sound at all!

Yeah, and there is nothing wrong with using a 1/4 inch setup like everyone has been doing forever. If a larger system takes 9.5 minutes to pump down or 10 who cares. It's not worth the added cost and lugging around those smurf hoses.

How long is the blue hose? It looks too short leaving you cramped
@DJV940223 ай бұрын
They have a 1.5 meter option and a 1 meter option which everyone says to get the 1.5 kit which is called "XL" ..but the closer a dang vacuum pump is to a unit the better it really is
@trevmint56153 ай бұрын
@@DJV94022 i bought the xl. It's plenty fast for now.

Great video. Imo, if you are coming from 1/4 hoses, then jump to the trublu. If you already have the Appion 1/2 hoses its not worth it to save a few mins.

Every little helps, I have a 1/2” Appion and 1/2” yellow jacket. will make a massive difference for us automotive guys that do a proper job on the system! actually removing moisture and tracking it on the app with a micron gauge. You 1/2 hour vac & gas guys with 1/4” hoses and analog gauges wouldn’t notice the difference 😂 but the 1/2” to 3/8” fittings will make the most of the pump and gauges just got mine to 🇬🇧 can’t wait to give it a go 👊👊👊

What’s the model number of that flow gauge?

Dwyer HFA-2-100, calibrated for air at 4.0 specific gravity @100 psi, 70 degrees F. You have to put a valve in parallel with it to recalibrate it to your vacuum pump.

Question: When making repairs on a system (or replacing a compressor). If we are replacing the filter drier, is moisture really a cause for concern? I would assume at that point proper de-gassing is more a priority rather than trying to remove moisture with the pump. So a vacuum of 5000 microns or less should be OK. But a vacuum under 500 microns with a 10 minute decay test would be better.
@markm0000 Жыл бұрын
The filter drier can only hold a few teaspoons of water until it fills up and stops absorbing. Then you have water circulating around with the compressor oil. That causes acid to buildup and damage the compressor.

1/4 hoses makes more sense to do the job for 3/8 copper line..but yeah a bigger hose should def be connected to the bigger copper line whether it be 3/4,7/8 or 1 inch copper suction
