This is all very interesting, and there was a time when I thought about doing this type of work, but I'm not sure it would of worked for me, as I've seen car haulers transporting cars that may have been damaged in transit, also I'd worry that there would be damage I missed on inspection and wonder if it happened in transit. Also I see plastic over the driver's seat, which is a good idea, as sometimes you can get grease on you and I wouldn't want to get any on a new car. So you see, not to discourage anyone from doing this, I just think I would worry too much, so I'm glad it didn't work out to pursue this type of work, but glad it works out for so many of you. Thanks for the interesting videos too.
@CarcarrierTv
@CarcarrierTv 8 ай бұрын
I can totally understand where your coming from and yes car hauling isn’t for everyone. But I’ll tell you the damage thing is gonna happen from time to time even for the best of us. The last damage I did was 2.5 years ago I had a rock take out the back window for an Acadia. As for missing damage during initial inspection 100% that gets most drivers a time or two a year. None of us are perfect we just try really hard to not have it happen. As for the seats yes I’m pretty sure 100% of the new cars we haul have seat covers so we don’t stain the seats but also you get good at not getting dirty.

Was that the Romulus to Commerce Georgia load? Hey, I been wit United Road going on 5 months this month… but everything this man is saying is 100% is true!!! To me loading the car are the easy part… but trying to get your height down and not be overweight on your axles is sometimes the hard part of the job and the weather also plays a role too… but I like car hauling even though I’m at the low end when it comes down to making money because I’m still trying to learn the system and trust the progress

One other thing, totally unrelated, how did you drown out the planes going overhead? They seemed pretty close and great unplanned background shots too. ✈️🛫
@CarcarrierTv
@CarcarrierTv 8 ай бұрын
Lol yes they were close the Detroit airport was directly across the street. As for drowning them out I use 2 iPhones to record. The one with the video during editing I normally just turn the volume off on the video and then I use a iPhone in my pocket that I Bluetooth a noise canceling microphone to as my audio recorder. Then I just have to match the audio with the video during editing. It’s not that hard unless I get phone calls and then have 5-8 min sections with no audio and then when I hang up I start recording audio again and have to match those portions back up.

So hauling cars without cdl experience I honestly don’t know. Ik United needs a minimum of 6 months of otr experience before they can touch you. If your dead set on not going otr go to your local auto auction on auction day and walk through the truck lot. There might be a moon and pop that will get you the experience you need

@k.l.channel5953 honestly I love a high rail. It does take just a little bit longer to load but it is easier to get down to height. I had another driver Terry describe it perfectly high rails are the cheat code of car hauling. If you mess up just slide or tilt the car a bit and fix it.

@CarcarrierTv Retail "door-to-door" is the most challenging. Correct?
@CarcarrierTv
@CarcarrierTv 8 ай бұрын
@peachtransport3102 it’s the most headache but it’s also the most profitable. Door to door loads should normally be paying $8-$10 per mile for that your of run
@peachtransport3102
@peachtransport3102 8 ай бұрын
$8/10 a mile? So, a load VA to LA would be ~20k. And back another ~20. So if I fudge my logs a bit, I can make ~80k a month gross? You're making ~8/9k before tax a month. So extra 70k a month is not worth your headache 😅. What a headache that must be. Are you sure $8/10 a mile correct estimate?
@CarcarrierTv
@CarcarrierTv 8 ай бұрын
@peachtransport3102 ok so it’s not the same math everywhere and normally your not gonna have a full load of singles going to 9 different drops. The further you drive the rate comes down a bit but yes 20k one ways are pretty common. But your run also isn’t va to la and back most guys that do that it’s 1-2 days to load va md nj pa Ny then drops in tx az ca nv. Reload the same states and back they run about 2-2.5 turns a month making around 50k
