Our new bikes require multiple software updates for the best performance. My local dealer keeps me updated every time I bring it in for something. Nothing wrong with building a relationship with a local dealership.

HD stands for Huge Disappointment !!! 😂😂

My first and only store bought Harley Davidson shows severec rear rim damage, an incorrect cruise control and all done by Dealer Techs. Currently I work as a service writer at the best shop in our area, because of the caliber of Technicians and a very organized Service Manager. We have no control over anything except proper repairs and a complimentary wash.

Save you money. I've never had a dealership do any of my services on any new bike that I've bought. I have had no problem changing my fluid or filters. I pull off my own wheels to take to a shop to change tires for 50 bucks. I will go to other shops to have things done that I don't want to do. I had 14" 3/4" apes put on and save $200.00 at an independent shop. Harley dealer ships will totally rip you off.

Thanks for the information. I'm in the process of doing the same thing with my road glide. 300 - 700 Kinda makes me angry I've decided to do it myself. Not necessarily in the same day . That would definitely be too overwhelming. I was thinking about doing each hole a different day. Change the oil and filter and be done with it . Next day , tranny. Be done with it . Next day , take on the primary. Little intimidating with the primary because I was told that the derby cover bolts strip out easily. BUT , one project at a time until I get confident with the new machine. Thanks again for another great video

I have always done my own oil changes. Just take pictures of mileage and the oil change itself.

My dealer on the East Coast owns Kingwood HD in Houston (that just bought out and merged with Woodlands, I think). I have a service plan through the dealership here, so whatever I need is paid for. I was on a 6000 mile ride last summer and had a problem, so stopped in at Kingwood. The took the bike right in and took care of the problems, and offered me a 10% discount on anything in the store. Because of the plan, I have no idea of their prices, but I really liked their attitudes.

All those places sound like a rip-off. I bought all the new tools and oil for my Breakout 1k service for about $250 recently. If a Harley has problems after 1k then we need to ask ourselves........Why are we paying top dollar for these inferior bikes?

Some dealerships will give it to you free. But it's not really free. They've already worked the cost into the price.

I just change the engine oil, one hole.generic synthetic oil for big twins. Then for the next 10-20k I watch and fix things they missed at the factory🤪
