Now see mines the opposite, if I use it in Bluetooth only it constantly fails but hardwired never an issue in over 1,000 miles. Crazy how these things have all these issues. Great video man

Same thing for me. On Bluetooth, it kept crashing…constantly. Deleted everything from the bike(not even paired anymore), reset CarPlay on my phone. Plugged it in, got the CarPlay prompt on my phone and hit the Wired Connection only button. I ride in a half helmet most of the time so I have a Bluetooth device that is under my seat. It powers up and connects automatically when I start the bike. I haven’t had a problem in 3K miles. These things are funny. Luckily the motor isn’t as finicky 😂. Great video.

OK by far the best explanation for setting up and enjoying apple car play. I particularly enjoyed your detailed explanation on how best to sequence the entire start up. I followed your lead and disconnected and reconnected multiple times to ensure I had the sequence down pat and DAMN you ROCK! The key (apart from the sequence) is PATIENCE in the sequence allow the systems to properly hook up.

Updates didn’t do jack for my issues cutting out and dropping CarPlay. Infotainment screen has even been replaced. I don’t care how I have it connected, cable no cable Bluetooth it still randomly drops out. It’s in the shop right now trying to get it sorted. Me personally could not give Harley more money for an audio upgrade if that’s the best they could do stock. Wish I could love the bike but I wish I had bought something else. Audio is only part of the issues I’ve had. Good luck with yours.

When I turn the Bluetooth off on my iPhone then plug it in and let the No1 Bluetooth helmet connect on its own with my 24 FLTRX isolates any issues also the volume doesn't have to be turned up on the phone to max it.

@@bryanmontgomery4050 actually you don’t need any mod of any kind to do that. Just link your helmet to your bike, go to your sound settings, and In there you can choose “prompt” to be “helmet”. That’s it.

I have the new 15 pro Iphone what do I need to hook it up to charge my phone? I don’t need CarPlay because I have GPS on the bike and I just wanna play my music through Bluetooth, but I have to be able to charge the phone. They changed the import on the new phones. It’s not like the 11 or earlier.
@justyouraveragejoe762 ай бұрын
@@TheChuck1960 well here’s the good news. The port on the 2024s are USB-C. That’s the same one on your phone. So if you use an Apple USB-C to USB-C cable, it’ll fit the port on the bike and it’ll charge your phone while jamming to your music. That’s possibly the best and cost effective solution my friend. You’re literally the perfect fit for your set up and zero modifications or work around needed.

Why not plug the Bluetooth receiver directly into the USB-A connector, and instead use an additional USB-C to USB-A adapter?
@Robert-88643 ай бұрын
Is it because your phone charger has a USB-A interface?
@justyouraveragejoe763 ай бұрын
@@Robert-8864 So to answer your first question, i can absolutely do it the way you have it listed. In fact its the cleanest way of doing it. I have no way to charge my phone regardless of the type of USB. If i didnt charge my phone, OMG, the way you have it listed is the ideal way and just be done with it. This is a 30k bike and we gotta jump through hoops for CarPlay? Ridiculous!!!
@justyouraveragejoe763 ай бұрын
@@billymelton6253 thanks for the feedback. At the beginning of the video I clarified that this was NOT a Harley Davidson flaw. This was Apple that made it difficult. This was Android that chose not to participate. Harley had nothing to do with it as CarPlay functionality is 100% proprietary software to Apple. I agree that this sucks and I was ticked the first few days of owning my bike. But after research I realized this was out of Harley’s hands. So at the end, whether this bike was $8k or $60k, we can thank Apple for the headache.

This doesn’t solve anything. You still have a cord going to the phone. I thought the purpose of wireless apple car play is the ability to not need a wire? If that’s the case, you can just plug the phone straight to the bike and use the carplay that way
