I have said this a thousand times Paul Medel is the BEST in the business when it comes to why, when, where and how to call Elk! PERIOD! You could be a world champion caller but if you don't when, where and how it means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Love Paul's passion but the one thing about him that stands out is how he is very approachable and helpful. He mentioned wanting to help others and he does that even by answering emails, etc. Great hunter but even better person!

Paul walks the walk. He talks the talk. He will share his knowledge like no other. He is the ElkNut for sure. This man took his personal time to talk with me for 1-1/2 hours to do nothing but better my knowledge of hunting elk. With his help talking with me that evening I was able to harvest a 367 archery bull in Colorado back in 2016. I was in awe of his knowledge and willingness to help me out. I know that it was up to me too make this happen but I am still humbled by his friendliness and ease to talk with. A spectacular human being, and incredible hunter. My hat is tipped to you sir and I thank you for your help.

We second everything said. Such a humble and kind human with passion for the outdoors and a willingness to share that passion. Aces in our book as well

Paul is a genius. He's the only one out there that seems to be explaining what the bull is actually trying to say in various situations and how to communicate back. Everybody else simply teaches hunters how to make different sounds but are simply throwing sounds out there hoping something will stick. I've bow hunted elk for 20+ years and until I got the elk nut app and started listening to Paul, I never even knew what the "challenge bugle" or what we call the "bark bugle" meant. I always though the bull was barking and giving a warning to other elk and it meant they were about to bolt. Little did I know it meant the opposite. Since then, I have heard multiple bulls make this sound when we were in close and now it totally makes sense! Its the strategies based on what the bull is saying or what the situation is that matters. The slow play has been killer for us.

What are y’all’s thoughts & opinions on the Phelps EZ Bugler?
@ElkBros5 ай бұрын
If you are partner calling, it is a solid sounding call. Like anything, it takes practice, but it allows you to do a lot. Chuckles, grunts, cow calls and great sounding bugles. We are not big fans of externals for solo hunters. Especially that are on a large tube. Once a bull does get within a visual, they are hard to use without lots of movement that will blow up a situation. But the boys at Phelps made a great sounding call of you put in the time to master it.
