I went with Industrialist because science, credits and outposts. Bounty Hunter is probably the single best background if you're leaning in to the action side of the game.

I will say that this is probably the best breakdown of starting skills and traits I've seen, well said and informative. I picked Ronin, but just because I was going for the melee build. Kid stuff is a good one, the random gifts you get early on is pretty neat. The parent system is kinda weird though, maybe because I didn't grow up with parents irl, but it just seems a bit off 🤷🏼

I was exaggerating it a bit, but I really don't even have to use cover or anything. I can just move back & forth, boost pack around, & still win fights super easy. Yeah, I'm on PC. Ship combat is really hard if there's multiple ships, but ground combat seems like a cake walk.
