I found your previous video very educational. I didn't know anything about dams, other than I like ponds and lakes and they require dams. Nothing soothes the soul like a water feature.

Jordan, so great to see you on the tube again! Cheers bro.

Very cool. Totally amazed that you don't have to have a concrete head gate and a concrete washout area. I am a dessert rat and our soils would wash out first time it rained. Glad to see you making videos again or at least YT setting them for me.

I found the design of the pond episode VERY cool, thanks!

Did you need to get DNR/County approval for this massive project? Capturing and changing the flow of water has become quite interesting from a legal perspective. If the owners want to get rid of the pond what challenges would they face?
@alancottrill Жыл бұрын
I have the same question. As I understand it in Washington State, property owners have no rights to surface water.

@@alancottrill pretty crazy state you live in!

@@alancottrill That sucks. In Texas, I own the water that falls on my land but have no claim to water that flows from a neighboring property. This is on non-navigable streams or rivers. So if I’m just damming up water from my property and I’m under 200 acre feet of water, I don’t need a permit or license. Bigger than that or impounding a stream from elsewhere and I need to get State permission.

I've heard it takes a while to both find your KZbin 'voice' and then to find an audience. Keep plugging away though, I'm sure we'll see you at 100k subscribers soon!

I care. I liked both videos. I have been subscribed since you started the channel, and have watched every video.

That's a beautiful pond! One of these days I hope to build one about half that size on my little farm. 3-5 acre or so would be plenty big for me. Good work!

How much flow in cfs is expected into the pond? I've got a wet weather creek that nrcs said 660cfs for 25yr flood.
